In Praise Of Kenny G
The Shamrock Headband — Let's briefly talk about Kenny George. If you don't know who that is watch this or this and if you're still interested read this. I'm a little perplexed why there is not more draft buzz surrounding Kenny. The most respected draft sites have him going no higher than the middle of the second round, if he is to be picked at all. There is no justification in my eyes for such a low ranking. Yes, George is a serious injury risk, and he has problems with his conditioning. But he is also 7'7", 360 pounds, and can actually play basketball. There is one college player in the country who has a PER as high as Michael Beasley, and it's ...

The Madness
The Battle of Alberta — (click image to enlarge) By special request, here is my bracket for the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament. It's a little early to reveal my picks to my greatest rivals (Sacamano, Abboud) but so be it. I reserve the right to change some of these picks before Thursday, but this is how I laid it out this morning. I don't watch NCAA basketball with the same level of obsession that I used to (thanks, Chris Webber), so over the past couple of years, I've had to come up with some alternate strategies in picking my brackets. This year I abandoned some of those strategies, while clinging even more ...

The SSS 2008 NCAA Tournament Preview For Non-Psychics: South Region
Super, Scintillating and Sarcastic — Waxing poetic about how lovely the NCAA Tournament is seems a bit irrelevant at this point. Certainly "One Shining Moment" will provide a sort of grab-bag of sappiness at the end of the whole thing that will you make you go, "Man, I love March Madness," sigh while looking longingly into the middle distance and then go watch The Hills or something. Now is not the time for such nonsense. March Madness is great! Work sucks! Gus Johnson is so exciting! There, that's done with. What we all want right now is objective, cold-hearted analysis on which teams will prevail and how to win your office pools. I wholeheartedly hope you find something like that. ...
