Blogging through the Euroleague Final Four (Part Two) —
Draft Express
This year’s Euroleague season is officially in the books, after CSKA Moscow knocked off Maccabi Tel Aviv 91-77. Trajan Langdon was the game's MVP. The Euroleague might not have been more than a blip on the city of Madrid’s radar, judging by the sights and scenes found outside the arena (except one Maccabi Tel Aviv pep rally in Puerta del Sol last night) , aided greatly by the fact that ...
Euroleague champ 2008: CSKA Moscow —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
Not that of a surprise is it? The final match up was a surprise since in the beginning everybody thought it would be Panathinaikos and CSKA. Even though the final outcome was expected for Moscow to win it - they still had to get there and live up to the hype - Panathinaikos did not - CSKA did - kind of the mentality that Messina brings with him.
Just for the record: 77-91 and Trajan ...
Madrid as a basketball tourist —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
Finally I found a few hours to enjoy Madrid. So far I have only been running around between gyms, metro stations and restaurants. I have been to a lot of cities in Europe in the past 3 months but Madrid is by far the best city when it comes to “city life”. Last night, when we were on our way to the Euroleague Gala (thanks for the invitation - it was a great show) I saw streets ...
Euroleague Final Four: the Gala —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
Yesterday evening, the Euroleague held their traditional Gala in the Teatro Centro Price in the heart of Madrid. This was the occasion to honor some people and also to have a drink and some chats with the Euroleague people, from on and off the court.
First of all, this event was also the moment to declare the season MVP as well as the all-Euroleague teams. When the first decision was not ...

Euroleague in Sacramento? —
Sactown Royalty
Ian Whittell, whose coverage I look forward to every May now, reports on ESPN.com that the Euroleague will send three teams to the West Coast during the NBA preseason for a spate of exhibitions.
CSKA Moscow, who are seeking their second European title in three years in Madrid this weekend, are joining FC Barcelona and one other Euroleague team in a series of exhibition games on the ...
Euroleague Final Four 2009: Berlin, Germany! —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
As I am sitting here with Christophe at the Nike International Junior Tournament, we found out that the Euroleague Final Four will be in … BERLIN !
A great basketball city like Berlin gets an event like that! Since we all know that Germany isn’t the best basketball country in Europe is it pretty weird at first why the Euroleague chose this location for next year. It is not that ...
Euroleague Final Four: the arrival —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
So finally, I am in Madrid. I came in this morning with a flight from Italy with approximately 3 Siena fans. So the fan support for Mens Sana is not huge. The guys told me that they will be about 600 tonight in the arena. I directly went to the Magarinos Arena to check a few Youth games before heading to the hotel.
The Nike International Junior Tournament is the must-be for every NBA ...
Euroleague final four: euroleague.net brings it’s A-game —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
To be honest - euroleague.net has been a place where I would not spend too much time unless I really know what I am looking for. This morning everything changed and that’s why I will do a few short euroleague.net cigarettes:
Pictures of CSKA , TAU , Maccabi and Siena arriving in Madrid. The official web site of CSKA also posted some pictures, including this one of Ettore Messina ...
Euroleague Final Four: My first time - Athens 2007 —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
Thanks to FIBA.com I was able to go to the Euroleague final four 2007 in Athens. Actually this was probably the start for my “Euroleague career”. Four months later I got in contact with Christophe and Julien, to start BallinEurope and now it is almost like a normal job to work on BallinEurope.
I guess I was lucky to be at a final four in Greece, where eventually the home team, ...
Euroleague Final Four: the real player blog —
Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
You may already have passed through the different Final Four Player blogs that are online on the official website of the Euroleague. I am not the biggest fan of these literary pieces which sound more like the team’s PR officers imagining themselves as professional sportsmen instead of being written by the players themselves. That’s why [...]
