Of all the days for Remy to take a day off. This could have been this year's Pizza Throwing moment.

Whatever.  Anyone who catches a ball like that would be pretty psyched.  And most people who feel confident enough with themselves will turn around, check out the crowd, and have a good time with their moment.  Don't think for a second you'd be much different.  And as for dropping it?  Why is that shameful?  Unfortunate, yes.  Maybe even embarrassing.  But he didn't look embarrassed, he looked like he was still having fun with the whole thing.  Judging by the comments, none of you would have been that cool about it.  Pathetic.

Fan Catches Foul Ball, Drops It During Celebration
Published 4/21/2008 by jason at SPORTSbyBROOKS
Karma can be a biatch sometimes, even in small doses. A Red Sox fan had made a great catch on a foul ball hit into the upper deck of Fenway Park. But during his excessive 30-second celebration, he managed to drop it: Not only did he lose a great souvenir, but the ball fell back on the field, stopping play. As Fred Sanford would politely say, “ You big dummy! ...

Life lesson: Sometimes, karma = gravity

Say, for a minute, that you have just made a great one-handed catch while sitting high in the seats at Fenway Park during a convincing 8-3 Red Sox win . The TV crews caught it. The fans are cheering your efforts. You're basking in the sunlight, triumphantly holding the ball up for all to see savoring the chance to brag to your buddies, who weren't fortunate enough to be in the stands with you. Because obviously, you're the man , man! Except one thing, that is. Yep: disaster strikes. You. Drop. The. Ball. Witness: And see, that's what too much celebrating will get a brother. One minute, you're cruising for the end zone, ready to do some ridiculous fat-man ...

Hold Onto The Damn Ball, Dude [Bad Catch Fella]
Published 4/22/2008 by Leitch at Deadspin
We've never been fortunate enough to grab a baseball at a game, but if we did, we suspect we'd jump around and act the fool for whatever camera happened to be within eye's reach. We'd be that excited. One thing you can guarantee, though, is that we'd hang onto the damned ball. Unlike this Red Sox fan at the Patriots Day game yesterday. This guy embarrassed himself so thoroughly that he now has a site devoted to him, kind of. Whatever scorn this guy receives, he totally deserves. Shawn Talks Too Much ...

I Approve Of This Even More Because It Happened To A Red Sox Fan

I have never caught a foul ball at a MLB game, so I don't really know what it feels like to snag one. But it must feel pretty good, even if it was a ball hit by Milton Bradley. But of course, if you're a total dumbass like this guy, you proceed to mug for the camera like a conquering hero: "All hail me! I caught a foul ball!".....only to drop the ball over the railing 15 seconds later. Man, that sucks. Oh wait, he's a Red Sox fan? Then I mean that's AWESOME. You Fahckin' Mawrawn!

I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I've never blown a chance at a foul ball in my life, as many people have. I just happen to believe that once you hit a certain age, it's no longer cool to wear your glove to the game, and it's hard to catch a screaming line drive with your bare hands. So while I make fun of people who blow their shot, I do so knowing that I probably would have done the same damn thing. This guy, on the other hand, he should just be ashamed of himself. Oh, that's a wicked kick to the pissah. (From FanHouse ...

ModernTube: This Red Sox fan needs to invest in a glove
Published 4/22/2008 at Big League Stew
Here's about the best case of camera-hog karma that you're ever going to see. The situation: A fan at Fenway catches a foul ball and then does the prerequisite wave to the crowd before starting to bask in the cheers from those around him. No problems there, especially since there weren't any kids sitting around him that he could have given the ball to (a BLS requirement if you're a clearly grown male.) However, let's see what happens when this guy overstays his welcome in the foul-catching spotlight about 10 Mississippis too long ... Yup, I think I'll be laughing for the ...

Red Sox Fan Learns Why You Shouldn’t Celebrate After Catching A Foul Ball
Published 4/23/2008 by Anthony Hall at MVN Outsider
This has gotta be one of the best “D’oh!” moments I’ve ever seen during a sporting event. Take note of the lesson this video provides: If you’re lucky enough to snag a foul ball at a baseball game, keep the celebrating to a minimum. If you get too rambunctious after making the grab, you could end up like this guy: Ouch. Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it? That guy was acting like he’s hot stuff after making the catch, but obviously, this whole thing ended rather poorly for him. New rule: People who catch foul balls may celebrate ONLY after they made sure they have a damn good grip on their ...

This video of a fan at Fenway losing his precious foul ball was everywhere yesterday, but yesterday wasn't really good for me.  I had some other stuff going on that mattered more. What am I supposed to do?  Work harder so you can see things here before they show up anywhere else?  Yeah, that sounds great.  For you.  Me, I'm just trying to do the bare minimum to get along.  That's the American way, baby.
