Peter Gammons isn’t too happy with Alex Rodriguez’s timing
Published 10/29/2007 by info at The Buried Lead
Gammons unhappy with A-Rod’s timing (ESPN) As we mentioned earlier in The Snooze , the timing of Alex Rodriguez’s decision to opt out of his contract was quite curious (it was in the middle of Game 4 of the World Series when FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal jumped in with the news). ESPN baseball analyst Peter Gammons agreed with us: why make the decision public during the World Series? He has 10-days after the Fall Classic to opt out of the remaining $91 million due to him. After discussing the list of suitors for his services, Gammons fired his shot:“What’s unfortunate here is the total disrespect for the game of baseball.  This is the World Series. ...

THE NICKELODEON: PETER GAMMONS IS NOT AMUSED BY A-ROD
Published 10/29/2007 by DCScrap at Epic Carnival - Pop Culture, Sports, Celebrities, Babes, Rumors, Innuendo
As you can see from the previous post, a few people are a little ticked off at Scott Boras, Alex Rodriguez and the timing of their announcement regarding his pending free agency. Many think that announcing it in the 8th inning of what ended up being the final game of the season was a bit egotistical and inappropriate. Not surprisingly, you can count Peter Gammons amongst that group as well.Join the club ... after the jump. ...

Peter Gammons Calls Out Alex Rodriguez
Published 10/29/2007 by Matt Watson at FanHouse
... a far better analyst than someone who needs to fall back on that kind of cliche. The playoffs are a crap shoot, and it's not entirely A-Rod's fault his number has yet to come up.Was it self-centered of A-Rod to leak the news that he's opting out last night? Of course. But was it some kind of buyer's beware warning? Hardly. If the Rockies had A-Rod in their lineup, wouldn't they have had a better chance of extending this series beyond four games? A-Rod A-Halo?

With the news that A-Rod or, more importantly his agent Mr. Boras, is seeking greener outfields for his big A, the rumor from an agent pal is that A-Rod may be headed to the big A to play for the Angels. There will be a bidding war, to be sure, but apparently the Angels, who are deep in farm talent and lack a bit more of the Red Sox blend of money guys and young guys, are interested in making ...
