Sorry, Pens, But I’m Done With You
WNYMedia.net » BfloBlog — When the Cup finals started, I really wasn’t sure who I was going to pull for. I love the energy that Pittsburgh brings to the game, and I was hopeful that it would translate into some new viewers for the NHL. I also respect the tradition that Detroit brings, and despite their attendance issues the past two years, they really are a model franchise in a real hockey city. I figured Detroit would romp, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. But after watching the Penguins dumb down the finals at the end of Game Two, and watching Gary Roberts cheapshot a guy returning from a concussion, well, Pittsburgh can get bent. ...

GARY ROBERTS MUST HAVE MISSED THAT CLASS IN SCHOOL
The World of Isaac — I realize Gary is a bit old but I'm pretty sure they still had Human Anatomy clases back in the 60s. And I'm also pretty sure that wasn't his shoulder that hit Johan Franzen.... Roberts offered a unique take on the sequence, saying "he actually tried to throw his shoulder into me, I think. I was trying to backcheck and he threw his shoulder to me and my shoulder hit him, maybe hit him side of the face. But there was no intent there." Oh, hey, while we are at it Gary, this is my pinky toe

What Gary Roberts Did Before
FanHouse — Filed under: Detroit, Pittsburgh, General NHL, Penguins, Wings, NHL Injuries, NHL VideosIt's pretty much impossible not to like Gary Roberts. A grizzled old warrior, Roberts has earned the respect he gets from observers around the league after surviving for 20 seasons in the NHL and scoring 434 goals. And if it wasn't for a couple of seasons he lost both to injury and the NHL lockout, Roberts would more than likely be above the magic 500 goal mark that seems to automatically qualify players for inclusion in the Hockey Hall of Fame. But then there's the Gary Roberts we saw last night. ...

Eulogy: Remembering the 2007-08 Pittsburgh Penguins
Puck Daddy — Hey, remember these? In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we're bound to lose some friends along the journey. Gone but not forgotten, we've asked for these losers to be eulogized by the people who knew the teams best: The fans who hated them the most. Here is Matt P. from the Philadelphia Flyers site The 700 Level recalling the 2007-08 Pittsburgh Penguins. "The Penguins were a good hockey team, and good men. They were men who liked the outdoors... and hockey. And as skaters they explored the rinks of Western Pennsylvania, from East Allegheny to the [Vegas] Golden ...
