Kirk Gibson's Historic Home Run Set To Baseball Cards
Published 4/28/2008 by PostmanR at FanHouse
Filed under: Los Angeles, Dodgers, NL West, MLB Video Where does Kirk Gibson's homer in the 1988 World Series rank? Top 10 baseball moments of all time? Top five? #1? VintageTube: Kirk Gibson's HR told through baseball cards
Published 5/1/2008 at Big League Stew
Micah, one of my college friends and a Los Angeles native, knows every single word of Vin Scully's Kirk Gibson homer, from the time he stepped out of the dugout ("And look who's coming to bat!") to the instant the ball cleared the right field wall (" ... the impossible has happened!") He also loves baseball cards, so I'm pretty sure his head is going to explode when he sees this. The clip is almost 10 minutes long, but completely worth it for a mid-day pick-me-up. (A big BLS head nod goes to 6-4-2 for knocking me in on the sac fly.)
