If you check out the first link. I found it on youtube I posted it on NESW Sports. It is John Mayer himself. He is really funny.

I knew it was about to blow up everywhere. I emailed a bunch of people. Some people linked back and some linked to the big blogs. I just need to keep bringing quality content to the table and people will link to me instead of the people that link off of me.

I know this is just some growing pains. I also posted that Joey Gathright video that got 50 Ballhype votes and 20 links. But between the 2 videos that went viral I got 4-5 links.

Please keep in mind that I am not complaining. Every blog goes through this at first. I am very happy that I am just in the mix. This is just the first week that I have started NESW Sports, and I broke 2 viral videos. People will start to notice. On top of all that, I only found and posted the videos. I did not produce them, so how can I be upset.

I love Ballhype. I am meeting so many different Bloggers. Until last week I only worked on my other blog "SECFootballblogger.com ". Now that I have an All sports blog, I am meeting all kinds of new people and bloggers that I respect. And that is all in my first week. :-)

Two quick thoughts: unless you're actually the one uploading YouTube videos, it's kind of hard to "claim" them just because you found it first, especially when so many people have RSS feeds for specific search terms. I always try to give credit to the blog that found it first, but that's sometimes difficult to do.

I agree 100% that is why I am not upset at all.

I am just having fun finding these videos.

I might make some in the future.

Worst MLB Announcer, ” And That Happened ” Funny Video
NESW Sports, Sports Videos — Worst MLB Announcer Calls the A’s vs. Redsox Game in Tokyo, Video. “And That Happened” will now be my favorite call. Please watch this. It is very funny. ” The guy pitching throws the ball, and that happened.” This has got to be the worst announcer ever. I know it is some guy with a video camera but it is very well made. Enjoy this,Worst MLB Announcer, ” And That Happened ” Funny Video I am glad he made it to Opening Day in Japan>. Sarcasm Alert

John Mayer Is My New Favorite Announcer
AwfulAnnouncing — I was going to post this saying that this Anonymous guy is my new favorite announcer, but after a little sleuth work (I read the YouTube comments) I found out that it's musician John Mayer. He is in Japan for some reason, and this is the best call of an at-bat I've heard in quite awhile..... ...

Waiting…(Waiting)…Waiting for the LIGHT to Change
Bugs & Cranks — This is, hands down, the hardest I’ve laughed in a great while. I want John Mayer to narrate my life. I want to spill my latte and hear “and that happened.” I want a guy to talk to me in a bar, strike out and hear, “apparently that’s an S, according to the board.” Seriously, this is so fantastic. And he’s STILL better than Joe Buck.

Is John Mayer a baseball idiot... who was in Japan?
Red Sox Monster — Monster find today by Red Sox Monster's newest favorite email tipster, NESW Sports . Apparently, John Mayer, floppy-haired crooner, may have been sitting behind home plate for part of the Oakland-Boston series in Tokyo. And apparently, he's either got a really warped sense of humor or he's a real baseball moron. Check the video: "... And then THAT happened!" I could get used to hearing that on ESPN, actually. Initially, I never would have believed it was Mayer doing the play-by-play, but a little poking around suggests this is the real deal. First, the video is posted on Mayer's YouTube channel, mayermusic . The channel also includes several other ...

John Mayer Is Better Than Joe Buck
FanHouse — Filed under: Boston, Oakland, Red Sox, Athletics, MLB Video "And that happened ... " The blissfully ignorant voice in the video belongs to John Mayer (yes, that John Mayer, the guy who sings about Daughters and Wonderlands and running through high school hallways), who scored some pretty sweet tickets to one of the opening games between the Red Sox and A's in Japan. Maybe he doesn't know much about baseball (or maybe he's just acting silly for the camera), but I could totally go for listening him for a game instead of ...

JOHN MAYER HAS A FUTURE IN ANNOUNCING
With Leather - Sports news and gossip, panda sex, and the occasional Toonces the driving cat Photoshop — Even though I'll never forgive John Mayer for the ear-fucking travesty of that song about mothers and daughters, his history of appearances in funny viral videos (not to mention Chappelle's Show) suggests that he's not the complete teen-girl-pandering douchebag his music would otherwise make me think. And this video of Mayer calling part of an A's-Red Sox game in Japan will only add to Mayer's viral video cred.  I'm not sure if Mayer's being ironic or actually knows nothing about baseball (I'd guess the former), but one thing's for certain: he's light years better than Joe Morgan. (You ...

John Mayer Is An Insightful Announcer
MVN Outsider — I just became a John Mayer fan. No, not because of his music — but because of his baseball play-by-play abilities. For some reason, Mayer was in attendance when the Red Sox and Athletics did battle in a brief series in Tokyo, and for some reason, he did a little play-by-play work during one of the games. Take a look, and be amazed by Mayer’s vast knowledge of baseball: I couldn’t agree more with Awful Announcing on this video — “And that happened” is the greatest catchphrase I’ve heard from an announcer in quite some time. Indeed, with this video, Mayer proved to the world that ...

“And… THAT happened!!!”
Mojo Blog — Apparently, musician John Mayer was in Japan for the Red Sox - Athletics series and he did some play-by-play. Now either John Mayer has absolutely no idea about baseball - or he is really, really funny. But judge for yourself: "Yellow and blue for Justin", unbelievable. Link: Is John Mayer a baseball idiot … who was in Japan?

Is baseball a foreign language?
We've Got Heart — One of our favorite artists, John Mayer, doesn’t know much about baseball apparantly, but we give him points for trying. John recently called part of a game in the Red Sox vs. Angels opener in Japan. Maybe he should have tried it in Japanse, a language he actually speaks. The pitch……And THAT happens! Enjoy! ShareThis

Another Saturday Grab Bag
Drunk Jays Fans — Hey everyone, just sitting here on a Saturday afternoon, watching Brandon League mow down the Phillies-- and looking pretty good doing it-- about to start a little grab bag. Sure, Brandon had a bit of a battle with Jimmy Rollins, but fooled him in the end with a wicked Paul Reiser. Victorino managed a shitty little infield single that Aaron Hill almost got to, and... OK, Utley is battling too, and then didn't get fooled like Rollins did with a 3-2 Paul Reiser. He took a walk. So maybe I was premature with the mowing down comment. But he's looking OK, I guess. . . Well... not really. He just went 3-0 down to Ryan Howard... who's now walked. But at least ...

‘Kudos & Wet Willies’, season-opening edition
Bugs & Cranks — It’s time for our weekly ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ segment, praising the top performers of the week and heaping scorn upon the worst. Kudos to … Rich Harden. In Japan on Wednesday Harden looked like the dominating ace the Oakland A’s always thought he could be. Harden struck out 9 and allowed just one run in six innings as Oakland defeated Boston. If Harden could just put together a healthy season, which has always been his biggest problem, he would easily be one of the game’s 10 best starters. LaTroy Hawkins. Now, this is a guy ...

And That Happened
The Joy of Sox — This John Mayer video has been making the rounds since the Red Sox were in Tokyo, but I saw it only yesterday. Many people find him annoying. I know nothing about him (though I see we share a birthday). Is he related to Oscar Mayer? All I know is this clip is hilarious and I'd certainly rather listen to him for three hours than Joe Buck. .. Or Joe Morgan. .. Or anyone not named Vin Scully, really. "... yellow and blue for Dustin ..."

Baseball Today: Monday, April 7
Projo Sox Blog — AP Photo IF YOU AIN'T GOT A BULLPEN . . . Yogi Berra's most cogent maxim was proven beyond the shadow of a doubt this weekend, as the Sox' relief corps was torched for 11 runs (10 earned) in 6 1/3 innings in blowing a 3-3 tie Friday night (winding up in a 6-3 loss), turning a 4-2 deficit into a 10-2 defeat on Saturday and allowing a 2-2 game to morph into a 7-4 defeat on Sunday. Steven Krasner has the excruciating details of all three, two of which turned on Manny Delcarmen (above) showdowns with Frank Thomas. The results: A two-run double Friday night and a grand slam yesterday afternoon. So ...

Rays(3-3) fall flat against Yankees; Home Opener Tonight
Tampa Bay Rays — As my favorite announcer John Mayer would say…And that happened. That phrase pretty much summed up the night for the Rays. Bobby Abreu came up in the first…and that happened. Eric Hinske jumps for the ball…and that happened. Hideki Matsui came up in the 6th…and that happened. Jason Hammel pitched well, but again that happened. Hideki Matsui feasted on Rays pitching this series going 7-15 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI,helping the Yankees earn a four game split after dropping the first two games to the Rays. Not all was good news for the Yankees as Derek Jeter left the game with a strained left quad. On a ...

Case of the Mondays
Next Season Sports — [image] We all know that game commentating is often lacking. Unless it's a local broadcast, the people calling the game don't know much about the two teams and tend to focus on the most obvious aspects of the sport (I'm looking at you Magic Johnson). But perhaps after watching this video, we all might gain a little appreciation for the work of the individuals calling the game. Hey, at least they know the sport. After all, just about any description of a play is better than "and THAT happened." To continue... Reach Jeff Richards at nextseasonsports@gmail.com
