MavsCentral.com — I know Hot-lanta sounds so stupid, so I am going to keep using it. As for the game tonight, it wasn't pretty. Dallas fell behind 29-19 after the first period, were behind by as many as 16 at one point, fought back, but just ran out of gas. That lack of gas was also helped by poor defense and 43.8% shooting from the field. Some quick hits from the box score and such: Atlanta won its first season opener since the 1998-99 season. Devin Harris had to leave the game at halftime due to a bruise on his thigh. JJ Barea did fill in nicely, scoring 14 points in nine minutes.
