Ed Reed Interception Return Record
Every Morning Quarterback —
National Football League Blogcast, NFL Blogcast
Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed broke his own NFL record with a 108-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 36-7 drubbing of the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon. Ed’s previous record was a 106-yard return back in 2004 against the Browns. The pick came off Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb. Ed had a pretty good game. He also intercepted Donovan McNabb and returned that one 43 yards. That gives him 1,063 interception return yards in his career, just 420 yards short of Rod Woodson’s NFL ...
Ed Reed Doubles Down on Longest Interception Return Record
FanHouse —
by Josh Alper Filed under: Eagles, Ravens, AFC North, NFC East, NFL VideoWhen Ed Reed of the Ravens returned an interception 106 yards for a touchdown against the Browns in 2004, it seemed like a tough record to break. The previous record was 103 and most picks in the end zone are best left unreturned since you get a free trip to the 20. No one told Reed. The safety took a Kevin Kolb pass 106 yards for a touchdown to break his own record. The length is impressive by itself, but when you factor in the four tackles he avoids to get there it becomes one of the better runs you'll see all ...
NFL Week 12 De-Cleeting: A Thin Line
Amphibious Sports Duo —
Once again we were at XM's place to watch the Saints obliterate the Packers last night 51-29 and while trying to enter a zen-like state where Tony Kornheiser's comments escaped my auditory senses, I jotted down my observations from the NFL action I watched this weekend. One thing that definitely stands out is how wafer-thin the line is in the NFL from success to failure. With 5 weeks left, teams once thought in the driver's seat could be holding onto the bumper as the playoff car speeds away. More NFL senseless insightful rabblings after the break. We won't get fooled ...
Top Ten Ravens Plays of 2008
Baltimore Beatdown —
The NFL Network did a Top Ten List of the Baltimore Ravens best plays from the 2008-09 season and I thought I'd recap them for you and see what you thought of them and their order. Here they are:
10. Haloti Ngata's tip and diving interception against the Houston Texans. Pretty decent mobility for such a huge guy, as he had two interceptions (unreal for a DT!) in 2008.
9. Troy Smith's pass to Joe Flacco against the Raiders. If Joe could have just stayed on his feet, he would have had a TD!
8. Willis McGahee's 77 yard TD run at Dallas when the Cowboys thought they were getting back in the game. Great run for Willis, as he was under ...
Friday’s Morning Mashup
LEEInks —
Welcome to Friday’s Morning Mashup, where we’ll get you caught up on what’s going on in the sports world and beyond.
Jon Lester looked strong while testing out his bruised knee, pitching shutout ball for 6-1/3 innings in the Red Sox’ 3-0 win over the Indians at Fenway Park. In his Five Things We Learned, Alex Speier says Lester’s performance provided a big lift for Boston. And in another dose of good news, the Sox are optimistic that Billy Wagner could be able to pitch on back-to-back days. However, Nick Green still is struggling with his leg injury.
Speier also has a look at how Jason Bay has proven himself ...
