JON STEWART ON WILLIE RANDOLPH'S FIRING

Last night's Daily Show opened with Jon Stewart (a Mets fan) talking about Willie Randolph's firing yesterday. Stewart shows off a little, if you ask me. "Ooh, look at me, I can tell jokes about sports without mentioning dead hookers!" Well la dee dah Mister King of Comedy. Why don't YOU try blogging all day. As an aside, Stewart also interviewed Lara Logan (BAM). "Ooh, look at me, I can sit next to a hot blonde from South Africa and talk about international strife. I'm so deep!" Jerk.

Jon Stewart, New Yorkers Feel Willie Randolph's Pain
FanHouse —
Filed under: New York, Mets, NL East, MLB Transactions Getting fired is no fun. As Jon Stewart notes above (via Baseball Musings),it's even worse when your employer flies you 3,000 miles from your home and fires you at 3 a.m. Ow. Of course, with a little resilience, Willie can bounce back. He's good enough, smart enough, and gosh darnit, people in New York want to give him advice: Taj Shaw's advice was to stay in California and do what Mr. Shaw did when he got fired from his job at a department store in Minneapolis. "I went straight to the airport and got drunk," Mr. Shaw ...
Meet the Mets: The Aftermath, Mexican Standoff and Jeff Wilpon

Just another day at Shea. The Mets are in a free fall... Speculation abounds about who is responsible for the sloppy firing of Willie Randolph. Was it Omar Minaya? Was it Jeff Wilpon? Fred Wilpon? Tony Bernazard? Everyone has an opinion and it's only a matter of time before the braintrust turns their fire on each other. Trust me, it always happens in situations like this. It may take a tell-all book, but it will happen. For now, there is only speculation. Mark Healy of Gotham Sports does a great job of outlining Omar Minaya's possible role in this mess and he heaps quite a bit of criticism on ...

The Daily Show's Jon Stewart has a rather enjoyable take on the whole Mets fiasco.
HOW’S THAT WORKING FOR YA?

There was no internet in my office today, which means, effectively, that there was nothing we could do. I spent five hours waiting around for a part to come in that would resolve said internet outage, only to be then told it would still be a few hours, and then gave up and came home. The whole time, I’m thinking - how great, I don’t have to read about any more of this nonsense… before I walked out on the street and paid attention. ...

Was trolling around the net and came across this Jon Stewart Daily Show clip about the firing of Willie Randolph. I know this is old news, but this got me laughing - especially starting at 1:38.
