The league needs to look at those forearm/elbow-to-the-head hits before someone experiences permanent damage. Draw. Posted by McGoon on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:51 PM agree disagree Draw. Bouillon tries to sniff Ruutu's armpit or something. Nice try midget. Posted by blackgoldfan on ...

Will Ruutu get suspended? UPDATE: Yes, he will
Sens Army Blog - Ottawa Senators Blog —
Should Jarkko Ruutu get suspended for elbowing Habs' pest Maxim Lapierre to the head? Anyone who hasn't seen the hit, here it is: I don't know what will happen. I have a feeling that given the league's emphasis on eliminating hits to the head Ruutu might get some sort of punishment, but I haven't heard any word yet. Further on Ruutu, should he get any trouble for mocking the Canadiens faithful last night? Some people were disgusted by his antics, Glen Kulka on the TEAM 1200 being one notable name. Things that weren’t as hurtful as Sean Avery’s words
The Two-Line Pass —
I am trying to compile a list of things that the NHL has deemed less-bad than Sean Avery’s words. If you can find videos of other suspension-worthy clips, send them along. Six games for words. Unbelievable.
He’d have been better off calling Phaneuf the N word.
Other notable NHL suspensions, all with video, after the jump. Be sure to drop some I may have missed in the comments.
