Look, I think we all know why the Dallas Mavericks and a zillion other teams might be interested in Jason Kidd. Veteran poise, mental toughness, ball movement ... we have all seen that. What would be driving this rumored trade, more than anything, though -- say it with ne now -- is that Jason Kidd makes his teammates better. 3 p.m. I found out the Lakers had recieved Pau Gasol had been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. L.A. gave up very little and helped bolster its front court. When Andrew Bynum makes his return, the Lakers have to be considered a formidable title contender.  The Lakers only had to part with Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton and two first-round draft picks. Moving Brown, who had fallen out of favor in LA, for Gasol, is a steal.
