Jason Kidd and Game 5
Mavs Moneyball —
Kelly Dwyer went off on Jason Kidd this morning, saying that not only does he suck, but that he should definitely be suspended for game five because of his flagrant 2 on Pargo.
Actually, you can blame the Jason Kidd trade, only because Jason Kidd came through with another classic on Sunday: play horribly, watch as the ...
Jason Kidd And The Mavs Maybe Not Such A Good Fit

How’d that trade workout, anyway? Sorry, Cuban, but you were probably better off keeping Devin Harris. He was a better defender, was quicker, and based on Kidd’s recent stats, was a better point guard. I don’t know Kidd’s final line before he was ejected from this one, but it wasn’t good, like most of his other playoff performances.
Some like it rough: Five hardest fouls of the NBA playoffs
Ball Don't Lie —
We're only nine days in on 40, and already this year's NBA playoffs has seen its fair share of rough play. Josh Smith is punking Pierce, Carl Landry is losing teeth and D-West can't stop slapping around Dirk. It's like the 80's in long shorts out there. (Slight exaggeration.) But which has been the hardest playoff foul to-date? Cast your vote below. The current top five candidates: Jason Kidd flips Jannero Pargo, Game 4. Instead of trying to make the block, a lazy Jason Kidd grabs Pargo by the back of the neck and swings him to the court. Incredibly, Pargo wasn't injured on the fall, but Kidd was ejected ...

This goes way beyond hombre-ism and straight into the realm of cheap-shotery. And you know what? I love it. I never realized much I enjoyed this kind of tooth-rattling, bone-jarring it’s-okay-to-hate-your-opponents intensity until — all of a sudden, out of nowhere — it was back. Tell the truth: Doesn’t this make the playoffs way more interesting? The word ...
Refs Ruin Basketball
LABallTalk.com —
The 2008 NBA Playoffs have been full of exciting match ups and great come backs. In the West, the higher seeded teams have played strong and made it to the 2nd round. In the East, the teams least expected to struggle are the ones that have been challenged. Unfortunately, I feel as though every game could’ve been even better had the referees not made so many poor calls. Allow me to review a few plays that I don’t agree with. Jason Kidd flagrant foul on Jannero Pargo : As you watch Pargo run to the basket, Jason Kidd makes a clear attempt to go for the ball. As the ball is obviously hidden, Kidd has no choice but to foul and prevent the easy lay up. While ...
Assorted Thoughts on the 2008 NBA Playoffs

The Guy I Underrated the Most Prior to the Playoffs Honorable Mention - Rip Hamilton. Man he's an assassin. On top of that he cared throughout the Celtics series, which did not appear to be the case for some of his teammates. Now on to the winner. Even after he made the All Star team and dropped 37 points on the Celtics I still felt ...
