EDMONDS CATCH
Published 5/20/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Docksquad) at Docksquad Sports
As we all know, the Cubbies won again today vs the Stros! Hopefully they can keep on rolling like they are right now. I'm definitely not trying to jinx the Cubbies like I usually do, but I had to post this catch by new Cubs CF Jim Edmonds, who was up to his old tricks again in the field. ...
Is Jim Edmonds the best centerfielder of this era?
Published 5/20/2008 by The Big Picture (noreply@blogger.com) at The Big Picture
Or does he just make some spectacular plays, like this one Monday. Edmonds is also known for these spectacular catches when he was on the Angels and Cardinals. (Video anyone?) We've always loved the way that Andruw Jones plays center and Griffey Jr. was magnificent in his prime. Sometimes players who make fantastic diving catches just aren't fast enough to track the ball and get under it -- Jones used to have that speed that he made any play look easy. Edmonds is one of the best for highlight reels, no doubt. The best centerfielder though? Certainly ...
Crazy catch by Jim Edmonds

Jim Edmonds is still very athletic and still a very good outfielder even though he is 65 years old. The Cubs are a little more dangerous now.

Jon Lester Is Unbreakable [MLB Closer]
Published 5/20/2008 by Rick Chandler at Deadspin
From Victor Conte and Barry Bonds to Brian McNamee and Roger Clemens, baseball has given us every reason in the world lately to be cynical, and yet we are not. The reason for that became evident once again on Monday night in Boston, when Jon Lester — who had beaten cancer just over a year ago — threw the 18th no-hitter ...
Jim Edmonds Got His Groove Back
Published 5/20/2008 at The Sporting Blog
With just nine at-bats and two hits as a Cub, the jury is still out on whether or not signing Jim Edmonds was a good move. All Cubs fans seemed to hate it when it went down, but based on the league minimum salary they re paying him and unbelievable, old-school Edmonds catches like this, maybe things will be alright: Although with the Cubs tied for most wins in baseball, and having won eight of their last 10 games, it would probably be difficult for Chicago fans to find much to complain about. Jim Edmonds Great Catch Before Tal's Stupid Hill
Published 5/20/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I didn't want to do this because I'm sure you predicted that I would after my poo-pooing of his signing, but Jim Edmonds made a hell of a catch last night. So did Jacoby Ellsbury, for that matter.
Or was this classic Edmonds, making a challenging catch look even better by failing to run under the ball? We know Jacoby would have been having a drink, sitting in a lawn chair under this blast to center for a good few seconds.
Either way, it's a great catch from the new Cubbie in the face of that stupid hill in Houston and for a brief, brief second I applauded the ...
