Mr. Irrelevant — So, I wander into the local pub on the corner outside of my place — The Corner Pub — only to find the Red Sox-Orioles game on the second most prominent television. The O’s are winning, Beckett’s pitching and, clearly, everything is coming up Mottram. (Background: Earlier in the evening, I won credit card roulette, thus earning a free dinner. Plus, I guessed the total amount of the bill within six cents(!) of the actual amount. Amazing, I know. So like I said, everything was coming up Mottram last night.) But then, with the O’s up 5-3, things appear as if they’re taking ...

Red Sox Monster - MassLive.com — In reference to yesterday's 5-4 loss in Baltimore , commenter ThePlop waxed poetic in the following way about Manny Ramirez's bases-loaded, seventh inning at-bat: That 7th inning was absolutely ridiculous. Nothing like swinging at the ball 15 times, then hitting it right back to the pitcher.... I gotta learn that! A slight exaggeration? Perhaps, but for anyone who didn't see the at-bat, it's about as painful for a Sox fan to watch as I imagine Fever Pitch 2: Drew's Revenge would be: From Mr. Irrelevant : Yep. Kind of like having a milkshake with glass in it, if you ask me.
