JIM LEYLAND UNLEASHES F BOMB TIRADE
Published 5/20/2008 by World of Isaac (noreply@blogger.com) at The World of Isaac
How ugly has it gotten from the Tigers? Well, now manager Jim Leyland feels obligated to respond to comments former Tigers pitcher Jason Grilli made. The comments seen below reference first basement Sean Casey whom the Tigers decided not to re-sign before this year. “It seems like they kind of broke up our team chemistry when they got rid of Sean Casey and good people like that. You wanted guys like that around.” LINK When asked about those comments today while talking to reporters, Jim Leyland unleashed his wrath. ...

Jim Leyland Is Horse [Manure]
Published 5/21/2008 at The Sporting Blog
The Tigers are 18-27 and in dead last place, 6.5 games back. This can only mean one thing: It s time for manager Jim Leyland to get awesome. The clip below really gets going about halfway through, and is highlighted by this quote: "I look in the mirror. When I m horse s---, I m horse s---. And right now, I m horse s---. And there s a few f---ers in that clubhouse that are horse s--- too." (H/T: The World of Issac ...
Jim Leyland Gets HIs Jim Mora On ... But Awesomely [Jim Leyland]

If you hadn't had a chance yet to listen to Jim Leyland's inevitable, but still awesome tirade about former Tiger Jason Grilli's claims that the team lost team chemistry when it lost Sean Casey ... well, here it is. Enjoy.
it's not a classic Lea Elia rant, but it's still fun to listen to Leyland pop off. "I'm a fucking man!" "Don't look at the fucking guy next to you." "Weak fuckin' shit!" "You can put that in your paper!"
God we wish every manager were like Jim Leyland. We once again would like to remind you of the best ever Jim Leyland moment. ...

Jim Leyland F-Bomb Tirade
Published 5/21/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I love me a good manager tirade. The bar was set very, very high with Lee Elia F-ing 25 years ago. Many managers have give it a good run: Earl Weaver was one of the best, Lou Piniella is a beauty and his crosstown rival Ozzie Guillen probably has it in him to reset the bar.
Bored with the dismal effort by his "paper" Tigers and fed up with the players talking anonymously through the media, Leyland went off on his own f-bomb tirade directed squarely at his team.
Oddly enough, a former player, and a terrible one at that, took the brunt of it. ...

JIM LEYLAND REALLY DOES MISS SEAN CASEY
Published 5/21/2008 at With Leather
So somebody asked Tigers manager Jim Leyland about what pitcher Jason Grilli sad about the team missing Sean Casey this season. And Leyland wasn't at a loss for words. Don't tell anyone, but I was as mad as hornets when the Reds let Sean Casey go and kept that douchebag Austin Kearns, who isn't even with the team anymore. I have no idea why no one likes Sean Casey, other than that his last name is kind of gender ambiguous. And he can't really field. Besides that, he's awesome. [The World of Isaac]
To reiterate, the Tigers (bleepin') miss Sean Casey
Published 5/22/2008 by Dan Lamothe, Red Sox Monster at Red Sox Monster - MassLive.com
When you look at the statistics , it has been a relatively quiet season for Sean Casey. Going into tonight's game, he had just 62 at-bats, no home runs and eight RBI, albeit a .355 average. Sometimes, though, there's just a lot more to it than that. Otherwise, when a former Detroit Tigers pitcher like Jason Grilli comments that losing "Sean Casey and good people like that" could be part of the Tigers' season-long slump, it wouldn't set Tigers manager Jim Leyland off like a cracked out Tommy Heinsohn in a badly refereed game. From The World of Isaac via The Sporting Blog , where I first saw this: He ...
Jim Leyland Needs a Cigarette

That’s what I’m assuming since he tore Jason Grilli, the Tigers and himself a new one.

Note to Jason Grilli: Cut back on the weak shit.
Jim Leyland goes berzerk…
Published 5/22/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
….and we’re here to witness it. Nice. He certainly likes the f-word and other four letter words… So do I.
With the Tigers season going the way it has though, can you blame him?
They were supposed to be one of the best teams in the league this year…. oops.

Syndicate this site [image] Piazza Says Goodbye | Main Links! Posted by Adam Sarson on May 22, 2008 * Jason Grilli, ex-Detroit Tiger and current member of the Colorado Rockies suggested that the reason why Detroit is struggling, is simply a lack of chemistry and a stagnant atmosphere. Well, Tigers manager Jim Leyland disagreed, and responded rather colourfuly after their last game. * Our Jim Leyland theme continues. This time he's squaring off with a young Barry Bonds. * Ladies and gentlemen, the sign of the Apocalypse. * Mike Piazza's last game as a Met, and the ...
The Pitch - Podcast
Published 5/23/2008 by Joe Aiello at The View From The Bleachers
[image] Just when we thought we took baseball personally, Jim Leyland erupted over a former player’s criticism of the struggling Tigers just in time for the Thursday edition of “The Pitch.” Hosts Joe Aiello and Brandon Rosage share the audio from Leyland’s awesome display of profanity and intimidation against the backdrop of a streaking division-rival White Sox team. The show also catches up with Jon Lester’s no-hitter, with a focus on perhaps the most under-appreciated component of a no-no: Four-time catcher in no-hitters Jason Varitek . The guys then poke fun at Albert Pujols ‘ unintentional massacre of the ...
