It was a great weekend of college basketball, a (AHH shameless plug ahead AHH) great Thursday and Friday of college basketball coverage at The Dagger, and a thoroughly enjoyable way for our Indiana Hoosiers to lose on Friday. Seriously. At least put up a fight! Then again, considering the anal fissures given to the Razorbacks by Great White Hope Tyler Hansbrough and company yesterday, I’m glad IU didn’t win. Much better to lose to in ugly fashion with fewer people watching than to lose by 80 in the second round. Dodged a bullet there.
And through all that, Duke-hate ran strong. Joe Alexander feels it: ...

It's not fair to tag Joe Alexander with goat horns because he missed that free throw on the "and 1" with 15 seconds left. Yes,it would have given WVU a 1 point lead, but there is no guarantee that the refs would have still swallowed their whistles on the contact when Lavender drove to the basket. Last year Duke fell to VCU . I still remember Eric Maynor willing his tam to a win. This year Duke fell to a more formidable team in West Virginia. With all due respect to my fellow FanHouser Charles Rich , I think that Joe Alexander's missed free throw towards the end of regulation is the biggest un-clutch play of the tournament. I hesitate to use the word choke because he made a sensational shot just to get the "and-one" play and tie the game 64-64 in the first place. Well, that was a tale of 2 halves, to be certain. After starting the game by hitting 2/3 3-pointers, Duke finished a Saturday loss to the Mountaineers making 4/20. A solid 2 for 17 effort helped erase a 5 point first half lead. For West Virginia, Joe Alexander finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Alex Rouff had 14 in WVU’s 9 point victory.
