Lastnight between Chicoutimi and Quebec there was a line brawl where Patrick Roy allegidly yelled at his son, Jonathan Roy (The goalie for Quebec) to go to the other end and fight Chicoutimi’s goalie. Here is the video. What type of suspension is this worth?

The rivalry between the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts and Chicoutimi Sagueneens reached a new low on Saturday, and once again, a Roy was front and centre. This time, however, it wasn’t Quebec head coach Patrick Roy, but his son Jonathan who plays goal for the Remparts. With the Remparts trailing 7-1 near the end of the second period of their playoff game on Saturday, players on both sides began to brawl. The younger Roy skated towards Chicoutimi netminder Bobby Nadeau, but was held back by two on-ice officials. Patrick Roy has been coaching his son, Jonathan, with the Quebec Remparts, but we haven't heard a peep out of the duo until yesterday's big brawl in the QMJHL playoffs: The son of legendary NHL goalie Patrick Roy could face discipline from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for his role in an ugly brawl during a first-round playoff game between the Quebec Remparts and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. This has turned into a pretty big to-do in these parts on the all-sports stations, although I do wonder how much we would have heard about the incident if the Roys weren't involved. Probably very little. .

Jonathan Roy, son of legendary goalie and noted pacifist Patrick Roy, gave the world this instant classic highlight when he skated over and beat the stuffing out of opposing goalie Bobby Nadeau during a Quebec Remparts game in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season. The young goalie was suspended for seven games, and his father/coach was suspended for five.
