  I don't have a problem with this.  Howard's trying to stand up for the littlest guy on his team while demonstrating some emotion & intensity.  It was just a shove.

The difference, however, is that in the NHL players are looking to earn a reputation for being a rough player that could add some intensity to their club. In the NBA, this type of dirty play doesn’t earn playing time. Brad Miller and Josh Howard may have acted stupid, but at least they’re acting like the preseason games matter…even though we all know that they don’t.
