Memphis 78, UCLA 63 [ Yahoo ]: The Bruins had the same problem against run-n-gun Memphis that Wazzu had against run-n-gun UNC. They missed a ton of open perimeter shots, which led to fast breaks by the opponent. Also, Darren Collison was atrocious. Kansas 84, North Carolina 66 [ Yahoo ]: By the time UNC figured out how to deal with Kansas' overplays on defense, it was too late--they went 16 ...UNC attempts to soothe bruin feelings

Bumped. OK......Paragon As those of you who follow basketball noticed, UCLA lost 78 - 63 to Memphis last night, being largely out-shot (unusual) and out-rebounded (very unusual). However, UNC managed to make that look like just an iffy day at the office in their 84 - 66 loss to Kansas. It wasn't just that the margin was a little bigger, it was the way that the Tarheels lost - starting out on ...And Then There Were None…UNC Eliminated From the NCAA’s

Watching UNC Play The First Fifteen Minutes of the National Semi-Final Reminded Me of Watching….NC State Carolina’s quest for a national title fell apart the first thirteen minutes of the national semi-finals and the Heels could never climb completely out of the hole that they created. Kansas, Memphis advance to national title game : Both did it impressively, truly proving their worthiness to compete for a national title tomorrow night. Kansas beats UNC : That first 13 minutes was one of the biggest ass-kickings I have ever seen, nevermind that KU did it against the team purported to be the best in the country. (They actually delivered TWO decisive runs: One in the first ...Kansas-UNC game

Well, that was a miserable game for the first half. And the second half was fun for about the first 15 minutes. But Kansas was sure enough the better team. To date, I've found this tournament nearly unwatchable. Here's hoping the championship is competitive the whole way. I've not much more to say for some while.Kansas 84 UNC 66

Well, that did not go well. This basically boiled down to Kansas playing exceptional defense and offense for the first 15 minutes of the game and during the same stretch UNC played about as bad as they could possibly play. As much as I am a firm believer in this Tar Heel team to do incredible things when back against a wall, dealing with a 28 point deficit against a fellow #1 seed is ...Thoughts on Kansas-UNC

Wow. If the Memphis-UCLA game gave us a dominating performance, this game gave us a roller-coaster ride. I called one of my friends who is a UNC fan when Kansas was up by 22. He didn’t answer (not a surprise) so I left a message that consisted mostly of me laughing. I kept on expecting a return call from him in the 2nd half, but mercifully that call will never happen. 1) I ...SbB @ Final Four: KU-UNC Live Blog (2nd Half)

It's been a stunning 1st half. UNC is actually happy to be down 17. Kansas holds a 44-27 lead. Kansas came out and had control of this game. The Jayhawks came out attacking. Whether it was the basket on offense, or whoever had the ball for the Tarheels. UNC seems stunned more by the speed than the size of Kansas. The Jayhawks came out and shot 55% while holding the Tarheels to under 30%. At ...SbB @ Final Four: KU-UNC Live Blog (1st Half)

(Athleticism in action) The Larry Brown Invitational continues with Kansas against North Carolina. Psycho T is here. If UNC is going to win the national title it will be against the toughest Final Four ever. There are tons of questions for this one. Will Green and Ellington shoot the ball worth a darn? Will we see “beep-beep” Lawson? How well will Deon Thompson play? Can the defense step up huge. It's been 20 years since the Kansas Jayhawks won the national title. It's been three years for North Carolina. One of these No. 1 seeds will get a chance to win again Saturday when they battle at Alamodome. Kansas has not yet hit its full stride, but has won with balanced scoring and depth. Can Roy Williams lead UNC past his ex-team, or will Kansas force him to assume the position? For the first time in the history of the NCAA tournament, the selection committee nailed it. Four teams left; four number one seeds. The closest to a mid-major scare was Davidson, who got barely brushed aside by Kansas in the Elite Eight. That leaves just four big time programs in Kansas, UNC, ...The early betting lines (UCLA-Memphis + UNC-Kansas)
