Thank You For Gus And Stephen CBS

This is probably my favorite play of the Tournament so far. Just an amazing shot by Stephen Curry and an awesome reaction by Gus Johnson. Oh and I threw in the Karate Kid flip up by Michael Flowers because it was badass. This kid has gone for ...Kansas Fans Take To Streets After Huge Win

The game of the day went to Kansas vs Davidson. It wasn't a particularly great offensive game for both but they managed to do some good things defensively. Davidson did a good job by playing a sort of packline M2M while Kansas went to the box and 1 junk defense in the second half. I'm actually surprised Bill Self did not switch up to the box and 1 defense earlier in the game. Once Stephen ...Jayhawks Survives Battle With Davidson 59-57 Fly On To Final Four
Posted 3/31/2008 on Slam Dunk Central
It was a battle to the end between the little engine that could, and the Number One Seed. And in the end Goliath (Kansas) won 59-57, but what a battle Davidson put on! The school that has captured the Nation’s hearts in the 2008 NCAA Tournament went down fighting to the end led by their scrappy leader Stephen Curry. Kansas looked like they finally could relax in the last minute of ...Mindless Dribble: Kansas Escapes With Win over Davidson

Four #1 seeds have never made the Fi.. oh well, I guess we can throw out Bracket Tactic #17 from next year's batch. Unlike Xavier, Louisville, and Texas.. at least Davidson seemed up the challenge. The Wildcats didn't necessarily bring their A-game, but it seemed like C+ was enough to get it done on Sunday evening. The national media has had their full share of thoughts on this game, but here ...NCAA: Four #1s as Davidson falls short
Posted 3/31/2008 on Teeoff Sports
With three #1 seeds in the Final Four, Kansas had a tough time with the Cinderella - Davidson. Coming down to the final shot, Davidson’s top player - Stephen Curry was double teamed and had to pass off to Jason Richards , who bricked the 25-footer. Curry finished with 25 points but Kansas helped make [...]Only One Moment That Might Not Shine

By Will Brinson This is probably closer to what Davidson wanted on that last shot. Wow. First of all, it's worth saying "thank you" to both the rosters of the Davidson Wildcats and the Kansas Jayhawks for a game that made up for an entire weekend of NCAA blowouts. Secondly, thank you to Davidson and Stephen Curry for being the story of this tournament, especially when you ...Davidson Falls to Kansas

If Jim O’Donnell were here, he’d tell you that the clock had struck midnight and Davidson had not slain a giant superpower from the overrated Large Dozen super conference that isn’t a pumpkin. He’s not though so you’ll have to settle for me being the one to blog the fact that Davidson’s magical run came to and end at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks. ...Kansas Beats Davidson, Heads to Final Four
Posted 3/30/2008 on FanHouse
Kansas beat Davidson 59-57, ending Davidson's Cinderella run and sending the Jayhawks to the Final Four. Stephen Curry was, as always, the leading scorer, although he lost his deadly accuracy from three-point range. Davidson had the ball down by two and Curry had the ball in his hands with seconds to go, but instead of shooting he dished off, and his teammate missed the game-winner as the ...Your Final Three

With Memphis romping Texas today like Texas hasn’t been romped, we’ve got our Final Three. Davidson and Kansas are in action right now, and Kansas has a two point lead at the half. It’s hard for me to root for Davidson, as much as I love upsets: Kansas/UNC will be an awesome game to watch, and either of those taking on UCLA or Memphis will make for a really, really fun ...Memphis Gets In, But One Golden Ticket Remains

Memphis wrapped up the South regional earlier today with a beatdown of 2-seeded Texas, 85-67. Davidson and Kansas are now duking it out for the fourth bid to San Antonio; Davidson is trailing only by two at the half. The first half had a slow start, but then both teams started to run, making shots on both ends, and Davidson is giving the Jayhawks all they can handle. Kansas held off a late rally by tenth-seeded Davidson and came away with a tough 59-57 victory in the Midwest Regional final Sunday. The Jayhawks win marked the first time all four top seeds advanced to the Final Four since the tournament expanded in 1985. This is the Jayhawks' 13th trip to the Final Four, their first since 2003. After a Kansas miss with 19 seconds left, the ...Davidson vs. Goliath

(1) Kansas vs. (10) Davidson This is the post where you can openly root for Stephen Curry and his Visa-carrying teammates to get yet another upset. Or you can root for the Kansas Jayhawks who seem extremely un-Google-able. Unless of course, you love Christmas ornaments like I do. However, if you are here to root for the favorites don’t worry. And now the Davidson Wildcats are all that stands in the way of an all 1-seed Final Four. If they, and we've been assured all day they are not just Stephen Curry, can deal Bill Self another regional final loss, they will be the first 10 seed to make the Final Four. We know Davidson is exhausting its endowment to bus their students in free. Will Lebron be joining them? So what if the Cavs ...Kansas vs. Davidson Preview

Can the Cinderella run continue for Davidson? Or will Kansas, one of the most complete and talented teams in the country, end the dream season for the Wildcats? The last piece to this year’s Final Four will be determined on Sunday evening when the national power takes on the mid-major upstart. By Will Brinson You aren't going to find many people rooting for Kansas in this game. I would venture to say that even some Rock Chalk fans might be thinking "weeeell, if we have to lose, at least let's lose to Davidson." Okay, maybe not, but in case it's not obvious by the horrid overuse of "Davidson v. Goliath!" so far, Stephen Curry and the Wildcats are everyone's favorite ...Midwest Region Final: Davidson (10) vs. Kansas (1)

The bigger they come, the harder they fall. Is No. 1 Kansas ready for a fall at the hands of No. 10 Davidson or will they end the road for the little giant-killing school Sunday when they meet at Ford Field? The Wildcats have felled a No. 2 (Georgetown) and a No. 3 (Wisconsin) - why not a No. 1? Because they haven't faced a team as deep and balanced as the Jayhawks. Storming The Floor looks at last night's Sweet 16 action. Davidson 73, Wisconsin 56 Well, so much for Cinderella Davidson's ride coming to an end when they had to face a big, bad Big Ten defense. That was a complete domination on both ends by the Wildcats against a Badger team that doesn't get dominated by anyone.
