During Sunday’s afternoon game against the Brewers, SNY announcer Ron Darling compared Prince Fielder’s vegetarianism - which has cleared his arteries, and his stat sheets - with a similar diet from former Mets’ pitcher Sid Fernandez. Sid once lost 25 pounds of luau meat, but also 8-10 mph of Hawaiian punch on his fastball, all because he spent most of the 1984-85 offseason eating a diet similar to the one Prince is currently choking on. Well, I guess it’s not that similar. The moral of this story? Prince had better start chowin’ cow again, before Gabe Kapler out-proteins him all the way to the cleanup spot. ...
