12.06.07 Don’t Call it a Comeback.  #24 Villanova 68, LSU 67.  “Any team that loses, doesn’t deserve to win.”  That profundity, uttered by LSU coach John Brady tonight after his ...

College Hoops … Stuff (and a New ESPN Hire!)

Please tell us that we’re not the only ones who saw Villanova’s incredible rally last night against LSU. It was oddly reminiscent of that miracle Kentucky comeback against Dale Brown many moons ago. Villanova trailed by 21 with 8:13 left, and stormed back for a pretty phenomenal 68-67 victory. To do so with virtually nothing from star Scottie Reynolds (four points) is rather impressive; it helped that LSU’s stringbean stud of a freshman, Anthony Randolph, fouled out with about four minutes left. If you’ll allow us the liberty of jumping back two weekends ago to the Final Four, specifically the Kansas-UNC game, we’ll present you with the following call by the venerable Mr. Cash himself, Billy Packer: Of course, Packer was swiftly excoriated for this comment by the public ...

Les Miles's comments sound familiar

We can believe that Les Miles won't be the next coach at Michigan. We can buy the talk that Michigan officials never contacted Miles or his people and that a new deal between Miles and LSU is as good as done. We can assume that all of this means The High Hat is staying in Baton Rouge. Or we can remember what happened three years ago.
