The Cubs' closer offered viewers a double barrel salute during today's White Sox Game. Here's to ya!
Kerry Wood flips the double bird to White Sox fans.

Even though this looks like it may be a friendly, joking gesture to his buds in the bullpen…we prefer to think it was aimed directly at everything White Sox. Technorati Tags: Clubhouse ...
Kerry Wood flips the double bird
Published 6/29/2008 by Richie Rich at Home Run Derby
While out at a party tonight I saw Kerry Wood flipping somebody off at U.S. Cellular Field …
When I got back from dinner … damn if Hugging Harold Reynolds hadn’t lassoed the video already (after the jump since RedLasso screws up the HRD main page) …
And really … what is up with all the Cubs posts at this site lately?
KERRY WOOD FLICKS OFF SOX FANS???
Published 6/29/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Docksquad) at Docksquad Sports
Is Kerry Wood flicking off Sox fans?? Check out this double flick off session by KWood from yesterday's game. That's definitely rowdy. Let's see what he has to say about this one tomorrow. For now, hopefully the Cubbies can win Sunday's game to avoid a broom session. Thanks to Hugging Harold Reynolds for the video. ...
Kerry Wood Extends Middle Fingers - Video
Published 6/29/2008 by Stephen Kersey at Knuckle Curve - Baseball News
Check out this video of Kerry Wood showing off his middle fingers. Why was he extending those two fingers for the world to see? Your guess is as good as mine.
Whatever the case may be, the 31-year-old closer for the Chicago Cubs is having his best season in a long while. He has a 2.50 ERA to go with 20 saves and four wins. He remains one of the hardest pitchers to hit, evident by his 49 strikeouts in less than 40 innings of work.
Prior to this year, Wood had never had a save and was primarily a starting pitcher. However, to lower the stress on his oft injured arm, the Cubs decided to move him to closer. He gave up three ...
Kerry Wood Reminds Fox Viewers That He's Number One
Published 6/29/2008 by Josh Alper at FanHouse
Filed under: Chicago, White Sox, Cubs, MLB VideoDuring yesterday's Cubs-White Sox duel, the Fox cameras caught Kerry Wood in a pretty candid moment while he sat in the bullpen. Thanks to Hugging Harold Reynolds for the video. We're lucky that there was a Yankees-Mets game yesterday, otherwise we would have been subjected to the unreasonably offended Joe Buck's thoughts on Wood responding to something out in the pen. Instead we get a nicely understated Thom Brennaman. "There you get a look at Kerry Wood," ...

What in the wide world of sports is going on?

Two things happened this past weekend that I am guessing Jim McKay would not have been happy to see had he lived long enough. 1) WTF is a Richard Childress owned race car doing painted up like this? [image] Is Richard Childress retarded? I don't care that the driver is Childress' eighteen year-old grandson, Austin Dillon, or that his grandboy asked to use the number and paint scheme in one of NASCAR's subdivisions. Earnhardt was like Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky all wrapped up in one to NASCAR folk, so this is just wrong. And did we mention, that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. couldn't even get permission to use this scheme when he was looking for a new ...
Cubs Get Swept by White Sox, Kerry Wood Emotes Appropriately
Published 6/30/2008 by Rob Iracane at Walkoff Walk
The White Sox toppled the Cubs last night 5-1 to complete a three-game weekend sweep but the real action happened Saturday. Here's Cubs reliever Kerry Wood expressing his emotions in the best way he knows how, thanks to the inimitable Hugging Harold Reynolds blog:
Kerry was obviously disappointed that U.S. Cellular Field's concession stands ran out of garden burgers and registered his complaints thusly. Smart.
We Who Are About To Die Salute You [MLB Closer]
Published 6/30/2008 by Rick Chandler at Deadspin
The Cubs really don't have a reasonable explanation as to why they suck so relatively badly on the road. The White Sox beat the Cubs 5-1 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep, the North side's eighth loss in the past 12 games. And here we see Mr. Kerry Wood trying to explain it, as you probably saw in Sunday's Closer. If it were up to me, I'd run this photo every day until the end of baseball season, I just love it so. Also the video, which we show you again following the jump. Wood's salute occurred on Saturday during the Cubs' 6-5 loss. I have it on good authority that he did it for a critically ill child. JIMMY: "If you could ...
This is Why We Love Kerry Wood
Published 7/1/2008 by Bad Kermit at Hire Jim Essian!
Happy July, everyone. I’m tired, it’s a short week, no one else seems to be working, I had a lot to do last night, and I had no time to think about writing. So, I’ll try to appease you with these two videos. We love Kerry Wood. Not because of the saves. Not because of the filthy breaking ball. Not because of his loyalty to the Cubs. But because he hates Sox fans as much as you do.
What has two middle fingers and hates Sox fans? THIS GUY!
Credit goes to Desipio and Home Run Derby for posting it first.
This, of ...
