I would have loved to see the audience. This is an unranked women's basketball team he's talking about here, although it is Michigan. I'm thinking there are 3-5 guys out there shaking their heads in disbelief, and one cameraman thrilled that he's catching this all on tape.

Offensive Rebounds
Published 2/29/2008 by Dylan at UM Hoops.com
Rough loss for the women’s team tonight to Wisconsin 69-67. Michigan led by as much as 20 points and still managed to let the game slip away. As you can see from Borseth’s reaction, Michigan got out rebounded 40-33 (23-7 offensive rebounds). This was enough to cost Michigan the game even though they out shot Wisconsin 51% to 34%.The loss will probably cost Michigan an NCAA tournament bid but it has still been a very successful first season for Borseth and the Wolverines. They beat Michigan State for the first time in six years (nine games) in front of a record 5,596 people (more people than ...

Michigan Coach Takes Up Slack Of Knight Tirades
Published 2/29/2008 by jason at SPORTSbyBROOKS
Now that Bobby Knight is off the college court and heading for the ESPN studios , who’s going to throw post-game tirades at the media now? Enter Kevin Borseth . UM HOOPS has footage of the Michigan women’s basketball coach meeting the press Thursday night, just after his Wolverines lost a 69-67 heartbreaker to Wisconsin. Borseth spent the majority of his post-game speech on the subject of offensive rebounds. Well, not really spoke - more like screamed. Upon entering the press room Borseth slammed his fist on the podium and exclaimed, “That’s how I feel .” The cross coach went on to loudly verbalize his frustration with the ...

Michigan Women's Hoops Coach Kevin Borseth Flips Out After Loss
Published 2/29/2008 by Michael David Smith at FanHouse
Filed under: Michigan Basketball, NCAA Basketball Coaches, NCAA Basketball Video, Women's SportsI'd like to introduce you to Kevin Borseth, the women's basketball coach at Michigan: That was Borseth's reaction to the Wolverines' 69-67 loss to Wisconsin. He started things off by slamming the podium and saying, "That's how I feel." He then screamed, "I'm so damn sick and tired of getting out-rebounded!" Over the course of the press conference it's pretty amazing that he didn't break his hand, the podium or his glasses, which he took on and off with growing frustration. More from the ...

Coach tirade No. 33,421 ... this one from Ann Arbor
Published 2/29/2008 by Jeff Zillgitt at Sports Scope
Wisconsin outrebounded Michigan 40-33 in the Badgers' 69-67 victory over Michigan Thursday. Wisconsin had nearly as many offensive rebounds (23) as Michigan had defensive rebounds (24). And the Wolverines had just nine offensive rebounds. None of those rebounding statistics made Michigan coach Kevin Borseth happy. To say the least. We'll let the video take you home on this blog item. Hat tip: Sports by Brooks

Michigan Loses, Coach Melts Down at the Podium
Published 2/29/2008 by TheBigLead at The Big Lead
Ordinarily, we’d recap the night in the NHL and NBA by now, but a reader sent in this video and it is too rich to pass up. Here we have Michigan women’s hoops coach Kevin Borseth flipping the F out following a loss to Wisconsin. It’s a meltdown of epic proportions, right up there with Michigan State coach John L. Smith going bezerk and the Greatest Radio Meltdown of All-Time. That’s Michigan!

Michigan's Kevin Borseth Goes Nuts Over Lack of Offensive Rebounds
Published 2/29/2008 at FanIQ Blog
Greatest opening statement ever for a post-game press conference. The running fist pound to the podium. Nice touch. Meet Kevin Borseth, head coach of the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team, who's juuuuuuust a little upset about the lack of offensive rebounds. He's a little subtle about this, so you'll have to listen closely, but he sneaks it once or twice about this team's lack of rebounding. Wow. This officially joins the ranks of elite coaching rants.

If you are a reader of this blog you know one thing, we LOVE post game coaching melt downs. Whether it's Herm Edwards "playing to win the game" or Mike Gundy telling the world "he's a man, he's 40," it doesn't get any better than a coach losing his or her mind after game. In that vein, I bring to you a clip I just lifted from The Big Lead ...

Kevin Borseth Has a Great Idea
Published 2/29/2008 by SMQ <info@sundaymorningqb.com> at Sunday Morning Quarterback
After a disappointing loss to Wisconsin Thursday, Michigan's women's basketball coach combines two great ideas for increasing interest: going crazy in press conferences and turning basketball into football. HT: SI On Campus - - - He's no Jim Mora, but if Borseth brings the pads and the passion, I'd watch that.

Kevin Borseth Is Quite Passionate About Offensive Rebounding [Coaching Meltdowns]
Published 2/29/2008 by Rick at Deadspin
You may not care about women's basketball, but don't say that around Michigan coach Kevin Borseth. He's, um, into the game. And as you may have picked up from this clip, he thinks that offensive rebounding is rather important. Not sure if he's ranting at his players or at the officiating here, but either way, it's fun. The only thing better would be if he got down on all fours and lobbed a pretend hand grenade. "Maybe we should recruit football players and put them around the basket!" Ha. He's forty! He's a man! Michigan Women's Coach Enjoys Loud Noises
Published 2/29/2008 at The Sporting Blog
By Chris Mottram Bill Belichick, take notes from Kevin Borseth. This is how to make a press conference interesting: If nothing else, Borseth achieved the most exciting moment in Michigan hoops in about, oh, the last five years or so. Plus, he showed us that, unlike offensive rebounds, a navy blue shirt with a black jacket is, indeed, going out of style. > Michigan Coach Picks Up Slack Of Knight Tirades ...

While most podium-slamming meltdowns make the coaches in question seem like a giant d-bag, it’s hard not to love Michigan women’s coach Kevin Borseth. Who hasn’t felt like this after a game, or a day of work? The only difference is that when you get off work, the press isn’t there waiting for comment. Your dog is. And he’s getting sick of listening to you bitch. {HT: Everyone | Sporting Blog | SportsbyBrooks} Tags: Kevin Borseth, Michigan Wolverines

Michigan Women's Basketball? We totally, totally, totally love it.
Published 3/1/2008 by Josh Nason at Small White Ball
A few notes before SWB turns it over to University of Michigan women's basketball coach Kevin Borseth: -Coaches LOVE that sheet of stats after every game. I covered UMaine women's basketball for four seasons (admit it...you're jealous) and that sheet was like photocopied gold at the half and following a game. Glad to see Borseth abuses it so much. -Doggone? C'mon. Can we retire this old saying? Is it a southern thing? Doggone? Really? -Again, we totally, totally, totally love this clip.
