Lead singer from Midnight Oil goes postal
Guyism » celebs —
Nah....just kidding. It's Michigan Grrrlz Basketball Head Coach Kevin Borseth going absolutely nuts in front of what we are fairly certain is a very empty press room. Talk about a drama queen.
“Gain another 10 pounds … That’s how you get ready for Sunday.”
Dime Magazine —
Did you see this over the weekend? Michigan women’s basketball coach Kevin Borseth went nuts after the Wolverines lost to Wisconsin in a game where they got killed on the boards. The funniest part? The guy who enters the frame right after Borseth’s hellfire & brimstone entrance and makes a quick escape. The saddest part? Unless Don Imus unleashes some more ignorance, this is the only time you’re gonna see a women’s basketball press conference all year.
How great was Tony Stewart's postrace freakout?
From the Marbles —
By now, most everyone has seen or heard about Tony Stewart's evisceration of Goodyear following a godawful (in his eyes) performance in Sunday's Kobalt Tools 500. Here's the video: Great stuff. Now, what I want to know is, how does this stack up against the best postgame meltdowns ever? Forget just NASCAR; after the jump, we'll see how Tony compares with the best of the best across all sports. The type of day where if you're a Packer fan, you expect to stay in and drink PBR watching the Pack unless you had tickets to heaven on earth for any cheesehead. The hallowed grounds ...
Gold Coast's Coach Rips Journo a New One
World Hoops Blog —
Gold Coast Blaze's head coach Brendan Joyce went ballistic on a journalist who had been critical over the Blaze's signing of 38 year old Shane Heal. The accusation being that Heal's presence on the team is hindering 21 year old Daniel Joyce's progress. Daniel is Brendan's son. Joyce: Where'd that information come from mate? It's a load of garbage and I'd like to know where it came from because I tell you now there's no question what he (Heal) can do and that's why we recruited him. You probably shouldn't even be here after writing stuff like that, making stuff up like that. I've seen this stuff with (Hawthorn coach) Alastair Clarkson down in ...
The Best Coach Meltdowns
No Guts, No Glory —
The post-game press conference is usually a time to reflect on what went wrong or right in the game that your team just played. It's a time to acknowledge players that did a good job for your team as well as your opponent's. It's even a time to show good sportsmanship whether you just won or lost. But every once in a while, the post game press conference takes a turn for the worst. So lucky for you, we've compiled a pretty solid list of the best meltdowns by coaches. Just so you know, the language is a little salty in a few of these so don't crank these up for all of the office to hear. Nonetheless, you're ...
