Somehow, Not Only Are The Hawks Still Alive, But They Actually Have A Chance Of Winning

Josh Smith said Atlanta was going to shock the world. The world, in response, laughed at Josh Smith.
Last night’s game featured the second straight that Boston was incapable of stopping Josh Smith and Joe Johnson (especially the latter, who went for 35 points, 20 of which came in the fourth quarter), and the Big Three, who looked flawless together all season, are suddenly looking the part of an old bunch unable to make adjustments.
It’s 2-2, and while I’m not going to say the Hawks have won this series, I will say this: They’ve got Boston on the ropes second guessing ...

Mark J. Spears reports that no one will be suspended for Game 5 after the altercation Monday night. I've been dreading news on that all night. Seriously I didn't even want to talk about it. Fortunately everyone is a go for Wednesday night.
Thanks to Celtics Blog for the heads up on this one.
Celtics vs. Hawks Thoughts

No Suspensions? So, nobody from either Atlanta or Boston will be suspended for Game 5, and that's a big problem for people in ... Phoenix. For instance, consider this email from TrueHoop reader Damien: HOW IN THE WORLD WERE THERE NO SUSPENSIONS??? I'm not a huge Suns fan, but if I was in Phoenix right now, I'd be rioting in the streets. The EXACT thing that Stern suspended the players for last season in the series against the Spurs now goes unpunished because it might hurt the Celtics chances of advancing to a possible Celtics / Lakers finals. To quote Stu Jackson from last season, "A precedent wasn't ...

Red Sox Mike Lowell was activated from the DL and as expected, Bryan Corey was once again DFA'd, leaving many of us to wonder why they even bothered bringing him back to the big club in the first place. Jacoby Ellsbury, who has killed tonight's Jays starter Roy Halladay in his short career, has the night off due to a sore groin. Coco Crisp starts in center and will hopefully continue to up his trade value. After sweeping the Sox in the previous series, Tampa Bay Ray Carl Crawford says the Sox need to unleash Ellsbury on the base paths. Red Sox Nation agrees with you, Carl. Michael ...
Word of the Day: thug
Published 5/2/2008 by Basketbawful at Basketbawful
thug (thuhg) 1. verb, -ged, -ging. The act of committing an unnecessarily hard foul or fouls; this includes both those that are called and those that are either missed or ignored by the referees. 2. noun. One who commits an act of thuggery. Usage example: Well before Bruce "Lee" Bowen was roaming the hardwood, Bill Laimbeer was the undisputed master of thugging. Word trivia: We really do love the 80s, don't we? The 2008 Playoffs have been filled with so many hard fouls that somewhere out there ...

... Zaza Pachulia: This big body is getting some nice minutes off the bench and played his best game yet in Game 6 with nine points, six rebounds, and two steals in 28 minutes. Oh, there was also that little moment in Game 4 when he stood up to KG and ...
Assorted Thoughts on the 2008 NBA Playoffs

The Guy I Underrated the Most Prior to the Playoffs Honorable Mention - Rip Hamilton. Man he's an assassin. On top of that he cared throughout the Celtics series, which did not appear to be the case for some of his teammates. Now on to the winner. Even after he made the All Star team and dropped 37 points on the Celtics I still felt ...
