Final Four Wrap-Up
Published 4/6/2008 by Nick Underhill at IWS Sports Blog
Everyone outside of Kansas was heartbroken when Jason Richards clanked his buzzer beating three in the Elite 8, allowing all four number ones to march into the Final Four for the first time, but as a sports fan, you couldn’t ask for much more out of this tournament. We had the drama, the Cinderella’s, the star power, and in the end, it looked like we were going to have three ultra competitive games to close out the tournament.
Then the games were played.
Memphis may have beat UCLA by 15, but it my-as-well have been 30 the way ...
Chris Douglas-Roberts Dunks On Kevin Love, Ruins My Bracket. Kansas Somehow Beats UNC Despite Bill Self.

I'll be straight with everyone. I didn't expect to see a Kansas/Memphis championship game. Memphis being there doesn't really surprise me, since I think they're the most athletic team in the country. They double-teamed Love all night, and the only player from UCLA who managed to do much of anything was Westbrook - who did have a great game. But when you only have one guy on your team have a great game, and your All-American big man is getting quadruple teamed, you're not going to win many games.
As for Kansas, yes I'm surprised they won. Until yesterday, UNC had been the most dominant team team in the ...
Semifinal Review

Unfortunately, the location I was in yesterday during the games was not the most conducive to reviewing basketball, but I was still able to watch quite a bit and can give you some thoughts. I'm sure you're thrilled. - I was wrong. Nobody can stop Derrick Rose. I've pretty much underrated him most of the year. No more. Despite the Jayhawks' athletic guards and good defense, they won't have an answer for Rose either. I would still take Beasley over him in the NBA draft, but you can't go wrong either way. Really depends on team needs, and for the Wolves I think Beasley is more what the need. - That Memphis/UCLA game was a game for athletes, and ...

Happy Friday, sons and daughters of P&T. Amidst all the pre-draft madness, we've got some nice links for you to taste today.
- Joey of Straight Bangin' makes a very sound argument for drafting one of my favorite college players, Chris Douglas-Roberts. He's smart and talented, but as Joey notes, lacks the basketboner-inducing freakish ...
Making the (strong) case for Chris Douglas-Roberts

Making the (strong) case for Chris Douglas-Roberts Every year - every year - there is always one or two guys in the NBA draft that have us wondering, “How the hell did a guy like him drop that much?” I have already made my case for Kansas State’s Bill Walker , and I stand by my pick. But I understand why many - including GM Danny Ferry - would think that the 19th pick would be too high for Walker, a guy who has had three knee operations. What I don’t understand after looking at a plethora of mock drafts, however, is how the 19th pick is too high for an explosive scorer like Memphis’ Chris Douglas-Roberts. When the Portland Trail ...

Nobody knows who the Hornets will actually end up picking with the 27th pick in Thursday's NBA Draft -- and Ryan suspects they may not be picking at all -- but for the sake of passing the time, here's the best YouTube has to offer on four of the most likely prospects...
