Minnesota Shows Kevin Garnett Love, Celtics Edge Wolves
HoopsVibe NBA Blog — Minnesota Shows Kevin Garnett Love, Celtics Edge Wolves My Quick Take: The game was an afterthought. Few cared what went down on-court between the Timberwolves and Celtics last night in Minnesota . The real story was pre-game. Would former Wolf and franchise stud Kevin Garnett show for fans to honor him with an ovation? Garnett, who toiled for twelve years in Minnesota before being traded to Boston last summer, has missed the last five games with abdominal trouble and watches from the locker room to avoid the pain from sitting on the bench. Thankfully, Garnett broke policy so he and the fans could acknowledge each other. The Minnesota ...

LOY's PLACE a celtics green blog — Here are some things I found around the Wolves boards during their game with the Celtics. We need a very adrenaline filled game by our players. Video: Timberwolves Fans Welcome KG Back to Minnesota
MVN Outsider — I had the chance to attend last night’s Timberwolves-Celtics game–as a huge KG fan, it was disappointing that he sat out due to a strained abdominal muscle, but it was still great to see him get a standing ovation when he walked out on the court before the game: It was a classy decision by Garnett to make the trip to Minny…earlier this week, it wasn’t clear if he’d travel with the Celtics to Minneapolis, so kudos to The Big Ticket for making an appearance in front of the Target Center crowd. He’s one of the most beloved sports figures of all-time in Minnesota, and Wolves fans had ...

Kevin Garnett welcomed back to Minnesota
Ball Don't Lie — It's bitterly cold out in Toronto this morning. (Eh.) Temperatures are currently hovering around the -15ºC mark, but when you factor in the wind-chill it feels a lot closer to -30ºC. (-22ºF for most of you warmer, wiser Americans). Thankfully, though, Timberwolves fans are here to warm the cockles of my heart. They know cold.

Homecoming.
SLAM Online — By Myles Brown A staple of modern NBA folklore is Bobby Knight’s advice to his friend Stu Inman, a scout for the Portland TrailBlazers, concerning the second pick of the 1984 Draft. “…Everybody knew the Houston Rockets were going to take Akeem Olajuwon of Houston with the first pick. With the second pick, Stu told me they were leaning toward Sam Bowie of Kentucky. ‘Stu,’ I said, ‘you’ve got to take Jordan’ ‘Bob we need a center.’ ‘Well then play him at center’…” ...
