Briny Baird has taken the lead at the Zurich Classic after another solid display, he did not card the round of the day but he his 3 under par round was enough to take the lead at the half way stage. There was a hole in one today, the ace was scored by Tim Clark on the final hole of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Clarke had a good round overall as he made the round of the day a 6 under par 66. He had a fantastic back 9 with a run of 3 birdies, and ending with that Ace. Lee Westwood sprinted out of the blocks on day 3 of the MAPFRE Open de Andalucia chalking up five birdies in the first five holes, two more birdies followed on the 9th and 10th before the only blip of the round when he dropped a shot on the par 4 11th, finishing the round of with seven straight pars for a round total of 66, 6 under par. The Zurich Clasic in New Orleans was attached by animal and this time there was no sign of a Tiger (Woods) , no the course was invaded by an Alligator. Play had to be stopped whilst the huge alligator was moved off the fairway. As our photo shows Davis Love III calming approached the gator and took a pic on his mobile. In the 90s you were at risk from Great White Shark Attacks (Greg Norman) , but on Day 1 Davis Love III had to get snappy. The Alligator was moved off and Davis Love III completed his round, the incident did not help his game as he carded a 4 over 76 and he missed the cut after round 2. He made his return to golf at the MAPFRE Open de Andalucia in Spain, he has made the cut and he is prepared to play on even though he is in pain. Bubba Watson was pretty irritated with Steve Elkington Thursday and Friday at the Zurich Classic. In this video clip you can clearly hear Bubba saying Elkington can “kiss his ass.” I’m surprised this video hasn’t been yanked by YouTube yet. TGS (Tiger is God Channel) is pretty tight and quick with pulling videos off of YouTube. Later on, Bubba and Elkington kissed and made up. Bubba also apologized to the media and anyone who might have been “offended.” Personally I didn’t need the apology. It didn’t offend me at all. He’s not the first one to say “ass” on the golf course.

I absolutely love this clip. Someone sent me an email last week that I had to get coverage of the Golf Channel during the Zurich Classic of New Orleans when Bubba Watson decides to confront Steve Elkington. Well I've found it. PGA Pro Elkington decides to walk towards the green after his shot, and Watson isn't happy with the veteran. The Golf Channel picked it all up on their mics (NSFW, cursing).... I love the audible F-bomb under his breath and then the gasp from the announcer after he says that vets can kiss his ass. Too funny. But the fun doesn't stop there ...

Let me make one thing clear: I hate golf. But after the Zurich Classic two weeks ago in New Orleans, I'm starting to love it. Why? Well, first of all chef Paul Prudhomme got shot in the arm by a falling bullet and now this. Bubba Watson got fed up during the tournament when Steve Elkington kept walking down the course as watson was trying to shoot. So Bubba called Elkington out in semi-NSFW speech. Thankfully, the Golf Channel accidentally picked it up and Awful Announcing managed to track the clip down.
