In case you missed it, BOHChris started a Female Sports Blogger tournament of sorts yesterday with mixed reaction from blogfrica.
If by "mixed reaction" you mean your dude wrote a definitely racist, probably sexist post, upped it to Ballhype, and then got repeatedly killed by those who would like to think their work wouldn't have to stand next to such stupidity, well, yeah, I suppose you could call that "mixed reaction." I would prefer "utter, stupidity-revealing failure," which quickly escalated to "atrocity" at the first mention of Gym Class Heroes. Seriously; Gym Class Heroes.
Sometimes this place (not Ballhype) makes me want to eat my own fist. Gossip is saner than us all.

bohchris How pathetic are you that you base arguments around me mentioning going to a concert?
We actually did have quite a few people who support this endeavor and get it (calling it racist just shows what a hack you are), they just don't want to get caught up in the "fire" of illogical thought and hypocrisy many of you throw out. I couldn't care less.

PostmanE I didn't bring up Gym Class Heroes; you brought it up in the other thread to somehow bolster your claim that Common wasn't a totally off-the-mark reference for whatever incongruous point you were trying to make. But dude, really: Gym Class Heroes.
I should have let this hound lie because Shoals already killed you. (This isn't just objective; these handy little vote comments bear it out.) And it's not like you need anyone else to speak to how dumb (and huh-larious) your attempt at ethnography was; you're pretty good at doing that yourself. I just wanted to clear the air like everyone else: while most of my friends think I'm Irish, I'm actually one-third Liberian, one-fourth Serb, one-third Cherokee, and I have an aggressively evangelical attitude toward Afrika Bambaataa.

bohchris You're right. It's totally due to the validity of things you say and not at all because of the fact that you write for Fanhouse and people have enjoyed your work over time. Totally "objective" that you get hyped up for saying "bro, you're just going to have to guess!" Ballhype's a big adorable popularity contest but you and Shoals get validation from it. To each their own.
Frankly, you and Shoals can suck each other off, pat each other on the back and hype up the comments all day.
Make this about you instead of about the people it was written about. It's not transparent at all.

Not to state the obvious, but the people speaking out against this matter in the blogosphere. And I've talked to others who also objected. I know you have a higher Ballhype rating than all of us put together, but it's kind of a toy move to sit here and call PostmanE "pathetic" and a "hack" or say that you have no idea who Atma Brother #1 is.

The "inner circle" sports blog cartel that enjoys downvoting things, obsessing over Ballhype rankings (yeah, sure Shoals, that validates your otherwise worthless existence...escape to the Internet, kiddo), and obsessing over me not knowing or giving a shit about who you are or what you write can continue to celebrate your joyous victory.-
chone Dude, let's get over it. It's one thing to write the piece you did and take the flak for it gracefully, it's another to tell us we're all stupid and "don't get" what you're trying to bring.
Also, I think bohChris is more cunning than we think and is trying to instigate a publicity gaining Fanhouse vs. EC beef, with him and Shoals as blogosphere versions of Pac and Biggie. Just my theory.

FreeDarko I'm sorry, I was busy rolling around in my own urine, knitting, and sending letters to political prisoners. This "utterly worthless existence" is awfully labor-intensive.
Gossip, you know as well I do that AOL arms us to the motehrufkcidgn TEEF, and that, in the immortal words of Kevin Garnett, "I'm loadin' up the pump ... I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them ... I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." ALWAYS. BOND.
FreeDarko's rankings blow, and it doesn't get me down because I have other stuff going. I was referring--not so subtlely--to you and your gang's practice of inflating your numbers by circle-linking to each other every time one of you so much as drools onto the keyboard.
Trust me, I don't think the internet makes anyone important. However, I think it's interesting that, in an "industry" based largely on good will, mutually respect, and getting others to give a damn about you, you'd be so oblivious to who's established and who's not. Though maybe I'm from a different age, when links actually meant something and got you somewhere (in terms of audience, which is the reason anyone's writing anything to begin with).

bohchris Alright then, fair enough on the ranking up point. But I personally have never done that so, while you may not like those that do, your anger on that front's misdirected.
And yes, I know you, I know Postman (really don't know that other dude...I don't know why that's so hard to believe)...that doesn't make your cheapshots any less baseless or insulting. That also doesn't mean that I'm not going to reply to people attacking me and my work for something that had nothing to do with them. Don't get those two things confused...just because I take objection to your dislike of my piece doesn't mean I'm oblivious. I'm also not going to respect some moronic "chain of command" after being the one attacked.
So we can agree to disagree on this then, yes?-
carter_blanchard I wanted to say something like, "can't we all just get along and appreciate the fact that Miss Gossip owns," but couldn't resist jumping in the fray myself. Here's the problem with you not knowing who Atma Brother #1 is: you accused him in the last back-forth of being desperate for attention. When you run GSoM, one of the most successful and well-respected team blogs out there, the attention of turds like you doesn't really matter.
That said, let's just just appreciate the fact that Miss Gossip owns.
