Kyle Busch Wrecks Dale Earnhardt Jr. At Richmond With 3 Laps To Go
Published 5/4/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I may not watch a ton of NASCAR, but I know a little bit about driving. After all, I have a driver's license. And I know that the move Kyle Busch pulled on Dale Jr. Saturday night in Richmond was, how do I phrase this, not good. What made it particularly bad as well was that Dale Jr. appeared to be on the verge of ending his 71-race winless streak, but he instead ended up in 15th after the crash while Busch finished second. Naturally the classy Dale Jr. fanbase responded by pelting the racetrack with beers, but in all honesty, I can't say that I blame them. The great thing is ...

Weekend Tubs Review: Tough Spot for NBC
Published 5/5/2008 at The Sporting Blog
Kentucky Derby NBC's airing of the 134th Kentucky Derby was rather impressive and they were in the midst of a seamless broadcast on Saturday when tragedy put them in an awkward position. Immediately following the race, NBC began showing the celebration of those involved with Derby winner Big Brown when the cameras focused on the second place finisher Eight Belles -- who was on the ground. NBC went immediately to one of their on track reporters who went through the numerous situations that could have occurred from seizures to heart problems. The equine ambulances were dispatched to the track and blocked the view of the fallen horse. As NBC scrambled ...

I've Changed My Opinion

OK, I couldn't wait with this post so I'll post my race review tonight instead of now. Hope you don't mind. Initially I took the stance that the incident between Kyle Busch and Dale Jr was nothing more than a racing incident and I thought I was perfectly right, well I don't think it went down that way anymore. I now think there was more malice in Kyle Busch's actions than I originally thought. After watching several replays of the incident there is one angle that I find the most condemning. All of the other angles originally support my earlier notion of this being nothing more than a racing incident, ...

Kyle Busch Keeps Adding Enemies
Published 6/4/2008 by Geoffrey Miller at FanHouse
Filed under: Joe Gibbs Racing, Kyle Busch, Sprint CupWinning at all costs does, in fact, have expenses. Those expenses -- aside from blown tires and engines from burnouts -- have come in the form of frayed driver relationships and a increasing amount of fans hating the driver that is Kyle Busch. Sure, he claims that he doesn't want to be the villain, but he plays it pretty darn well. It's hard not to be hated, too, when you're winning nearly every race you enter. All together, Busch has scored 10 wins in 2008 in NASCAR's top-three divisions. Along the way, he's angered a few people or has been ...

The Bump Heard ’round the Nation

n the few hours that have elapsed since the “incident” of the closing laps of the “Guy Whose Name I Don’t Remember Anymore” 500 at Richmond, I have surmised quite a few things. 1. I don’t even need to explain what “the incident” is. Everyone knows. 2. It is really, really not wise to attempt to defend Kyle Busch. 3.
