Redsauce And this is why I think MLB umpires are awful...the umpire tries to get back in Bowa's face. Repeatedly.
Umpires should just shut up and @!$&ing walk away.

Bars & Stripes Not only that, but he instigated the whole thing. Since when is the coaching box enforced? Bush league.

Ben Q. Rock Yeah, that sort of BS doesn't happen in basketball or football. Bad calls are bad calls, but the refs don't get into players' faces about it.-

VIDEO: Larry Bowa Goes Apes#!t
Bugs & Cranks —
And we thought Dodgers third base coach Larry Bowa went nuts when they told him he had to start wearing a helmet to coach third base.
With my Devil Rays off tonight, hearing Vin Scully describe this tonight made me seriously consider plunking down $179 for the Extra Innings package….
Here’s shaky video with Vin Scully audio: ...

I can’t get over how thrilled I am that Major League Baseball has begun its season. In fact, I am still in a sort of euphoria after my weekend of attending games. As I was driving to Dodger Stadium on Monday, I felt for my fellow baseball fans that were experiencing rain outs and cancellations with their team openers… In game two on Tuesday night of the Dodgers’ opening home stand, third base coach Larry Bowa was standing a bit outside of his designated box. The ump motioned to him that he needs to stand in a certain place and Bowa freaked out! He got in the ump’s face ...
Larry Bowa Forgets He's In LA Now (and other baseball notes)

Continuing my lazy-ass habit of posting YouTube videos instead of original, creative content, I thought I'd share with anyone who didn't see it (which is most of us) Larry Bowa's first emotional outburst of the year, from last night's Dodgers victory over the Giants. Bowa was the third base coach for my beloved Yanks' the past ...
WATN: Good Old Larry Bowa
The700Level.com - Philly Sports & Minutiae —
On opening day we were discussing the former Phillies manager and ESPN analyst, wondering what he was up to these days. Turns out he followed Joe Torre to the Dodgers and still has some fire in that belly of his as demonstrated in this impressive freak out. Only thing missing is a good ball or bat toss onto the field and some dirt-mound formations on home plate.

Apparently the umpire told him to stay in the coaching box. I miss him already.

Larry Bowa is gangsta.
He went wild on the Umpire yesterday when he was told to stay inside the coaches box.

It's awesome when third base coaches flip out for no reason. And it's even more awesome when they are completely against the idea of taking any sort of responsibility for their actions. In fact, Larry Bowa seems to think Bob Watson, baseball's disciplinarian, has it out ...

Larry Bowa got angry
The Postmen // A Sports Blog // Chicago, IL. —
One of the signs baseball is officially here? The manager — or in this case Los Angeles Dodgers third base coach Larry Bowa — going insane in an argument with an ump. The best part of this is that it has nothing to do with a balls or strikes call or whether a player was safe or out. No: Bowa apparently got pissy because the ump gave him lip for not being in the coach’s box.
Vin Scully provides some dulcet commentary to the fun here. I could listen to that man’s voice all day.

Bowa Boots Himself
Baseball Digest Daily —
Not surprisingly, Dodgers third base coach Larry Bowa has been suspended for his conduct in Tuesday's game against the Giants. Bowa, who has never been known for being mild-mannered, will be banished for three games for his "inappropriate and aggressive conduct", according to MLB. Bowa got into it with third base umpire Ed Montague during the sixth inning for not remaining in the coaches box. The video is quite entertaining: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6Tjps_-JnQ ...
Bowa's Rage
Sons of Steve Garvey —
Anyone see Larry Bowa go apesh!t last night? I actually thought it was pretty funny and quite welcome. After all those games last year watching Grady Little sleep through the game and Rich Donnelly's ass in the 3rd base box, it was nice to see a coach come out with some fire. Reminded me of Tommy waddling out of the dugout and arguing with the home plate umpire. Plus, the Bowa outburst also seemed to rally the offense. The three game suspension was worth it - We're behind ya' Larry, keep the fire burning!

In the very fortunate absence of some sort of spring tragedy that has befallen the club in recent years, the Twins might be looking for a commemorative patch as a symbol of their season. Might we suggest, then, the item to your right, honoring — and this is great — the USS Pivot, aptly named and numbered 463 (or, if you prefer, the patch could perhaps be altered to read 4-6-3 for the Twins). The Twins hit into four such double plays last night, including the 4-6-3 master himself, Joe Mauer, coming off the bench to finish off the game with another ill-timed grounder to second. Your final score: 1-0 Angels. ...
