Breaking news/video: LeBron James wins '09 Slam Dunk contest
Ball Don't Lie —
CLEVELAND — LeBron James won the 2009 NBA Slam Dunk contest last night, months in advance of the actual competition, dethroning Superman cape-wearing champ Dwight Howard. James completed seven impressive dunks over the visiting Raptors, including a massive one-handed slam in traffic (:15) and a breakaway Karl Malone-esque stuff (:30) in the third. The judges ate it up. Toronto's Jermaine O'Neal finished a distant second.
LeBron James 7 Dunks Versus Toronto Raptors

Last night the Raptors and Cavs played a game and a dunk contest broke out. Or, actually, LeBron James had his own dunk contest. James had a ridiculous 7 dunks against the Raptors as he led the Cavs to their ninth straight victory. Most of them were thunderous dunks and rather than describe them to you, let's go this video courtesy ...

LeBron James did that thing where he jumps up and puts the ball through the hoop a lot last night, leading the Cavs past the Raptors for their ninth straight victory by a margin of 12 or more points, an NBA record.
And Bron did it in style: not only did he open the game with back-to-back breakaway dunks, but as the game wore on he actually ran out of different ways to dunk. I should probably break out the ol’ Nerf hoop and show him a couple tricks. Free of charge, bro.

by Tom Ziller Filed under: Cavaliers, Raptors, NBA VideosBall Don't Lie has anointed LeBron James the 2008-09 Slam Dunk champ on the basis of The Chosen One's virtuoso performance against the Raptors Tuesday night. It's hard to disagree. It's all so completely effortless. LeBron's unprecedented combination of strength and agility give the illusion of a giant among midgets. When he's all alone in the open court, he gets above the rim so quickly and easily it makes it seem like the court is smaller than it actually is. It almost looks like ...
LeBron James, Still Very Good At Dunking
RealClearSports - Blog —
The Cleveland LeBrons Cavaliers played the Toronto Raptors last night, in what was technically a "basketball game," but in fact more closely resembled a personal dunk contest for LeBron. He won. "OMG! LBJ!"
Not screams of joy for Lyndon B. Johnson (I assume).

This just in, LeBron James is pretty good at basketball.
During the Cavs latest win last night over the Raptors, LeBron James decided that shooting the basketball was for the birds. He decided that dunking numerous times would be the best way to go. I've been saying that forever.

The Sixers will host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in a prime time match up that will be seen across the country on ESPN. Philly fans won't have to be embarrassed by the small crowds at the Wachovia Center tonight as one of the games greatest (Kobe/LeBron according to Mo) will surely draw a crowd. It's how the Sixers can stack up with the impressive 17-3 Cavs that Philly fans will have to worry about. Last year, LeBron was a one man show in Cleveland as was able to power his team over most of the Eastern Conference. This year, he has some support in the form of St. Joe's own Delonte West as well as PG Mo Williams. ...
