Video - LSU vs Auburn 2007 (Final 53 Seconds)
Sthernguy1 (1 hour ago) Show Hide Marked as spam +1 ( Reply ) Why does everyone think that was a risky call? It was 3rd down and if it were incomplete, there would have been 2 or 3 seconds left. It was a good call and sitting on it on 3rd is stupid. As far as the bad spot on 3rd down, it would have been 4th and inches and it was 4 down territory anyway, so LSU would have most likely got a ...

Les Miles is catching all kinds of heat for going for the end zone with 10 seconds left instead of calling time out and kicking the field goal. The argument by everyone is that if the pass is incomplete, LSU would have lost. It's perfectly simple in its merits, yet wrong for all the reasons my couterpart wrote about below. If you watch the replay, it's clear that Demetrius Byrd caught the ball with four seconds left and rolled over while the clock operator inexplicably let three more seconds run off the clock. They owned the start of the game, and they owned the finish. In between, there were a few anxious moments, most notably the two big Jake Locker pass plays that tied the game, twice, in the third quarter. But in this season of unpredictability, a team gets major points in my book when it gets out to a commanding lead, unwisely lets the foot of the gas to a degree, and then goes full throttle to slam the door shut. Sure, it'd be better to never let the other team find its ...

Published 11/21/2007 by McD at Rumors and Rants
I'm back after a one-week hiatus because my computer crashed. And to make up for not giving you a little comedy with my suffering and ineptitude, I'm coming out with a special two-part Thanksgiving Week Rock-Solid, Lead Pipe Lock, Guaranteed Win and No Foolin' Picks! Feel the confidence coming out of the screen? Me either. I'm picking Thursday and Friday's games today and Saturday's picks on Friday. As always, these picks are for novelty purposes only. What else would they be good for? So sit back, relax, have some Turducken and enjoy the football. Thursday Green Bay (9-1) at Detroit ...
