Knuckle Curve — What was Richie Sexson thinking? If you haven’t seen the video of Sexson charging the mound, check out the video at the end of this entry. Texas Rangers pitcher Kevin Gabbard threw a pitch that was a tad high on the 6-foot-8 Sexson. The pitch didn’t seem too malicious, yet Sexson sprints to the mound. Even worse, Sexson throws his batting helmet at Gabbard before he even reaches him. Expect Sexson to be suspended for about a week. He didn’t have any business charging the mound and throwing his helmet was classless and dangerous. Instead of charging mounds, Sexson should concentrate on moving his batting average north of the Mendoza ...
