Kentucky Derby NBC's airing of the 134th Kentucky Derby was rather impressive and they were in the midst of a seamless broadcast on Saturday when tragedy put them in an awkward position. Immediately following the race, NBC began showing the celebration of those involved with Derby winner Big Brown when the cameras focused on the second place finisher Eight Belles -- who was on the ground. NBC went immediately to one of their on track reporters who went through the numerous situations that could have occurred from seizures to heart problems. Here we have Zaza, the floppy-haired slack-jawed foreigner who goes to Kurt Rambis Douchebag Fantasy Camp every summer, applying the one-man full court press during a 30-point curbstomping. If I were Hawks management reviewing this tape, I wouldn't give a damn about the foul (Williams at least shows some spirit and strength), here is what I would be concerned about: 1) The Hawks regularly get situations where they either move the ball well or get a loose ball or get an offensive rebound. Unfortunately the ball often ends up in the hands of Marvin Williams for a WIDE open 17 footer (see film). He can't consistently make wide open shots between 15 and 18 feet.
