Marvin Williams Clotheslines Rajon Rondo, Is Ejected
Published 5/4/2008 by Awful Announcing- at Awful Announcing
Here's the thing I didn't understand about this play. Marvin Williams has about two feet on Rondo, why not just try and block the shot? Just a thought, but if you're going to foul you mind as well make it a good one.... ...
The Many Worsts of the Weekend

Washington Wizards: They talked trash. They said they wanted Cleveland in the first round, that the Cavaliers couldn't defeat them three years in a row. They called LeBron overrated. They thugged the King at every available opportunity. End the end, they weren't just eliminated, they dropped the final game at home in a 105-88 blowout. The Wiz shot poorly (39 percent), had lousy ball movement (11 assists, 9 turnovers), and their defense was a joke: They let the Cavs shoot 50 percent, they forced only 6 turnovers, and Wally Szczerbiak hit 6 threes and scored a career playoff-high 26 points. Talk about going out ...
The Internets are alive: Hawks at Celtics, Game 7
Published 5/5/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
Scanning the blogs and beats following the Celtics' 99-65 series clinching win over the Hawks in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals ... Lenny Megliola, MetroWest Daily News: "This is how easy it was. The Garden psychopaths were calling for Brian Scalabrine in the third quarter. Scal was wearing dress pants, a suit jacket and a fancy blue-striped shirt at the time. It was that kind of game; that is, no contest at all. Never were the Atlanta Hawks in this one. You think they got smacked in Games 1 and 2? Hell, those games were competitive compared to what the Celtics laid on 'em ...
Weekend Tube Review: Tough Spot for NBC
Published 5/5/2008 at The Sporting Blog
Kentucky Derby NBC's airing of the 134th Kentucky Derby was rather impressive and they were in the midst of a seamless broadcast on Saturday when tragedy put them in an awkward position. Immediately following the race, NBC began showing the celebration of those involved with Derby winner Big Brown when the cameras focused on the second place finisher Eight Belles -- who was on the ground. NBC went immediately to one of their on track reporters who went through the numerous situations that could have occurred from seizures to heart problems. The equine ambulances were dispatched to the track and blocked the view of the fallen horse. As NBC scrambled to cover ...

SKELETOR'S REVENGE

Many thanks to Awful Announcing for throwing this up on Youtube- this was a great moment from yesterday afternoon. Here we have Zaza, the floppy-haired slack-jawed foreigner who goes to Kurt Rambis Douchebag Fantasy Camp every summer, applying the one-man full court press during a 30-point curbstomping. He and KG have been going back and forth all series, which really just amounted to Zaza delivering kidney punches and other assorted cheap shots while KG ignored him on the other end of the floor. KG is, for some reason, still playing in a game where Hawks are clotheslining our starters... what ...
Marvin Williams -- Hard Foul Footage Reveals Greater Deficiencies
Published 5/5/2008 by HM at Hoops and Other Pop Culture
If I were Hawks management reviewing this tape, I wouldn't give a damn about the foul (Williams at least shows some spirit and strength), here is what I would be concerned about: 1) The Hawks regularly get situations where they either move the ball well or get a loose ball or get an offensive rebound. Unfortunately the ball often ends up in the hands of Marvin Williams for a WIDE open 17 footer (see film). He can't consistently make wide open shots between 15 and 18 feet. While Williams was 13th amongst Eastern Conference forwards in shooting %, he was 24th in 2-point shooting percentage (he took 10 threes on the year, making 1). What HAS ...
The Lithuanian Finals or the return of A. Jomantas
Published 5/7/2008 by Christophe at Ball in Europe
Lithuania, the country of basketball is playing its finals these days between the arch-rivals of Zalgiris Kaunas and Lietuvos Rytas. But it is not the short result of the first game won by Rytas that is discussed but the once again unfair play of Arturas Jomantas.
It is not like it is the first time that the Lithuanian forward is going for some nasty tricks on the court. A lot of people made him responsible for hurting Drew Nicholas in a Euroleague game this season. He has also been in some pinpricks with Zalgiris Marko Popovic before or is known for some strange type of in-game eateries.
But now in the first ...
