Marvin Williams Hard Foul on Rajon Rondo`
Published 5/4/2008 at FanIQ Blog
If it was Falcons linebacker Demorrio Williams laying out Tom Brady in the open field this would have been wildly applauded.
Instead it was Marvin Williams and Rajon Rondo on the basketball court. That's a hell of a take down.
Marvin still contends he didn't mean to flagrantly foul his friend.
"Rajon and I have been friends since high school," Williams said afterward. "So he knows that I wasn't trying to do anything but keep him from getting an easy layup. That's it. But I'm not a dirty player. I was trying to catch him with my left arm and hold ...
Sigh…Game 7: The Atlanta Hawks Get Blasted By the Boston Celtics
Published 5/5/2008 by Co Co at The Starting Five
(AP Photo/Winslow Townson) w.jpg Marvin feels ya pain Co Co Well that was anticlimactic! The Celtics finally dispatched of my Atlanta Hawks in Game 7 on Sunday afternoon. I know I’m supposed to be happy that they made it that far, but I really thought they could beat Boston. I felt like they matched up pretty well against them and for 3 games I was right. Coincidentally those 3 games were in the friendly confines of Philips Arena. My guys just couldn’t bottle up that magic and take it on the road. I guess I probably shouldn’t be too surprised considering they’ve been terrible on the road all season, but a girl can dream! Before this series started I gave you all 5 ...
Hawks/Celtics game 7 was comparable to a bar fight
Published 5/5/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
So the Hawks and Celtics round 1 matchup was a hard fought one. The Hawks said die even when they were down 0-2. Despite their best efforts they couldn’t take one game in Boston and the Celtics ended the series convincingly yesterday.
Tensioned boiled over as the Hawks were getting their asses handed to them and Marvin Williams took it out on Rajon Rondo in a big way.
Kevin Garnett also got in on the action, dropping Zaza Pachulia ...
No Your FanPosts & FanShots: Cinco De Mayo Edition!

If you've been checking out Bullets Forever lately, you've probably noticed that we've been using the FanShot feature a lot. The FanShot is basically a quick hit post to a link, picture, video, etc. and it works out great for us because a lot of times there's news that's worth relaying but doesn't really constitute an entire post. The only drawback is ...
NBA Playoffs: Beating Your Opponent Down
Published 5/5/2008 by Chris at Intentional Foul
So what did we learn this weekend? The Hornets have no plans of making it easy on the Spurs. Yesterday, the Lakers just kind of skated by Utah, who was coming off their series clincher against Houston; a game played on Friday night.
Utah is probably really happy that Kobe shot a lot of free throws (21-23), which was only seven less than the entire Jazz team (22-30).
To the MVP goes the whistles.
We also learned Detroit is playing really good basketball right now but if they revert to their “switch-on, switch-off” mentality, the Magic will get right back in this series — depending on the ...
Then And Now

Here's what bugged me on Sunday. Here's a play that no doubt, all Boston fans freaked the hell about, screaming about Williams being a dirty player, and classless, and a disgrace to the game. Right. Because Boston is clearly a franchise above such behavior. My problem with this is that it's clearly a double-standard. Mike Breen acted like Marvin Williams hit Rondo, a friend of his, in the back of the head with a crowbar. He acted like it was the worst hit, ever. This is the playoffs. These fouls happen, and they happen a lot. ...
Way too far

It finally happened. Red Sox-Yankees turned deadly. Apparently some woman in New Hampshire ran over a guy because he was with a group of Sox fans who started chanting "Yankees suck" when saw the NY sticker on her car. Have the past few years really been that bad, Yankee Country? OK, I'm obviously making light ...
A stroll down memory lane

As an oldster, I come to this NBA final with a perspective that reaches back to the late 1960s, before I presume many of you were fans but a time when every spring seemed to finish with Celtics-Lakers.
It was tough trying to get anyone else enthused – the neighbourhood was full of 10-year-olds far more interested in playing for the Leafs than watching basketball and ball hockey ruled the day – but it really didn’t matter.
All I know is that Russell-Chamberlain was something to behold and the first replica jersey I owned was a homemade job, one of those old white undershirts with a green No. 6 drawn on the back. Yeah, I was Bill Russell.
I ...
