In the first half of The700Level's double-header at the Wach yesterday, the Flyers and Caps played in the tightest 7-1 game I've ever seen. After one period, the Flyers were up 1-0, but throughout the first, I couldn't help but be amazed by the shot totals. At one point, the Caps led by a count of 20-2, and the period ended 25-6. But... 1-0 Flyers.
Antero Niittymaki stood on his proverbial head, and if he hadn't, that period (and the game) could have easily gone the other way.
