And we thought Theismann's injury was bad
Guyism » celebs —
While Joe Theismann's leg breaking was gruesome, and Eduardo da Silva's ugly , neither of them were faced with what Austrian skier Matthias Lanzinger is facing. Lanzinger will have his lower left leg amputated due to complications after breaking his shin bones at a crash in Sunday's World Cup super-G in Norway. Here's the crash... The double fracture severely damaged blood vessels which hampered blood circulation in the leg of the 27-year-old. The Austrian ski federation said Tuesday that surgery on Monday night at a hospital in Oslo was only partly successful and left doctors no other option than an amputation to avoid further health risks. ...
Your Mother Did Not Want You to Ski For a Reason
The Sporting Blog —
By Spencer Hall Sometimes, you get to choose when your career ends, and sometimes your career decides when to end all on its own. If you get a choice between the two, opt for the first: Matthias Lanzinger's professional skiing career ended the second way in Norway on Sunday, and walking away from your chosen sport looks like the only way to go after viewing the video below. Warning: bad, but not Joe Theismann-bad video below. Consider yourself properly cautioned. Lanzinger had the lower leg amputated ...
LEGS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BEND THAT WAY
With Leather - Sports news and gossip, panda sex, and the occasional Toonces the driving cat Photoshop —
Austrian skier Matthias Lanzinger had a fucking NASTY crash at a super-G race in Norway, and because I'm such a hardass, ordinarily I'd tell you that this video is too graphic if you're a pussy. But not this time. This is legitimately discomfiting to watch, and only partly because I know the consequences of the wipeout. Lanzinger's lower left leg was amputated Tuesday because of complications from two broken bones suffered in a crash at a World Cup race. Lanzinger broke his shin and fibula Sunday during the super-G. The double fracture severely damaged ...
Random Video Of The Day
Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball —
As my Random Video of the Day posts go, this one is actually pretty solid, if by solid I mean grotesque. If you’re squemish about people’s legs bending in ways legs don’t normally bend, then don’t watch. But if you’re like me, and you get a little nauseated but still can’t resist the temptation, then dig in.

That Gnarly Skiing Injury
The Big Lead —
This is graphic. If you get queasy at the sight of limbs bent entirely the wrong way, you may want to look away. The Austrian skiier, Matthias Lanzinger, had his lower left leg amputated yesterday.
