Michael Jordan: Me Vs. Kobe Not Even Close
YOU BEEN BLINDED —
The Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant comparisons have obviously gotten on MJ’s nerves. Michael wasn’t messing around, trying to get a rise out of the crowd. He was saying what he truly believes.. And he’s right. In their primes Michael Jordan is better than ...
Shanoff's Wake-Up Call: Manny changes everything
The Sporting Blog —
Today's Calls: Manny Ramirez vs. Pudge Rodriguez, Marlins vs. Red Sox, Ryan Dempster vs. Aaron Cook, Brett Favre vs. John Lynch, MJ vs. Kobe and More.
The Opening Pitch: How big is Manny Ramirez? Single-handedly, he makes this the most intriguing MLB trade deadline in years.
I love the idea of Manny on the Marlins. Of all teams, he lands on the one with the $22 million payroll that Manny alone would nearly double.
But it quashes all the talk that the Marlins are playing to conserve payroll dollars, not actually fielding a winning product.
Would Manny help? Absolutely: Florida ...

Jordan: 'In My Prime, No Contest' Against Kobe
FanHouse —
Filed under: Bulls, Lakers, NBA Fans, NBA VideosVia You Been Blinded, we have some slightly uncomfortable video from a recent camp Michael Jordan put on. During a Q&A with a bunch of kids, some enterprising mini-baller asks MJ if Kobe could beat him. Here's MJ's answer. The immediate thought is that he's going for a reaction with the 'no contest' comment. But then he justifies it by explaining how Kobe couldn't stop him. He's dead serious. (And probably right.) The rest of the 5-minute clip strikes me as really ...

Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant? | The Video makes a statement
The Hoop Doctors —
July 31, 2008 - Dr. Browntorious
Today felt like Christmas when I was surfing the web. I saw something that gave me the game day feeling. You know that excited yet slightly nervous feeling in your stomach that you get before a big game or event that you have been thinking about forever. You know the feeling, the ‘game day’ feeling. Let me explain….
I grew up in the Jordan era. I’m a Michael Jordan guy. Like the guy can do no wrong in my eyes, so i’m a little biased towards any conversation that has to do with ‘his airness.’ That ...
MJ vs. Kobe
BallerBlogger.com —
Q: Who would win in a one-on-one game, you or Kobe?
MJ: Kobe would win, because I’m older. But in my prime? Not even a contest. Let’s just say I have a better chance of stopping him than of him stopping me.
I’m fascinated with the Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant comparisons. It would be my ultimate fantasy matchup to watch MJ and Kobe go at it. I don’t know which player would win. I’ve long held that Kobe is the better scorer, but MJ was without a doubt the better defender.
Of course MJ is going to say he could beat ...
Michael Jordan working teenagers at basketball camp
Sports Crackle Pop —
Michael Jordan spent time at a summer basketball camp and was asked a variety of questions. The best was who would win a one-on-one game, MJ or Kobe Bryant. Jordan stated that in this prime it would be “no contest.” That is great and all, but my favorite part was watching him teach a couple of youngsters the old adage, “you reach, I teach.”
MJ Doesn’t Think the Kobe Comparisons Are Valid
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
Someone is always the “next Michael Jordan“. Aside from the fact that it is actually impossible to be Airness-Heir, this is a title most often bestowed on Kobe Bryant. Kobe, unlike most people, actually relishes the challenge accorded with the notion.
However, MJ doesn’t really seem to think that Kobe should even bother trying. YOU BEEN BLINDED dials up video proof that Mike tells youngsters at his basketball camp (who obviously want to be like him) that he would have destroyed Kobe while he (MJ) was in his prime.

Michael Jordan, sharing knowledge or just embarrassing kids?
Hail Mary Jane —
Sorry for the late start today. Overslept a little.
Lets get back to business though.
Here’s a video of Michael Jordan schooling some young kids that I found over at YBB.
The video starts off with the kids asking Michael Jordan who would win between him and Kobe Bryant. I guess that’s fair because Kobe is the best a lot of those kids have seen. Mike answers the question the way he honestly feels. He says that now Kobe would win because he’s older but if they were both in their primes, it wouldn’t be close.
For those of you who are to young ...
MJ: Me vs. Kobe in My Prime - “Not Even a Contest”
Dime Magazine —
Yesterday Paul Pierce didn’t blink before telling the world that the best player in the world is not Kobe Bryant , but Paul Pierce. Today, a video is circulating of Jordan at a basketball camp talking with a bunch of teenagers - and when Kobe’s name comes up, Michael simply speaks the truth.“Kobe would win because I’m older,” started MJ. “But in my prime? Not even a contest. Let’s just say I have a better chance of stopping him than him stopping me.” This video is definitely worth six minutes of your time…

[image] Da Realist: MJ answers "the question." Gangsta D: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! Jordan dissed Kobe! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! He basically called Kobe a bitch. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! G-Nice: Okay, the best part of this video is the little boy in the background shouting, "Michael, be the MVP!" over and over again. On some level, I think it's incredibly egotistical to have thousands of people sitting and watching as you play little white kids one on one. But then I thought to myself, "Self, would I enjoy watching that." And then I answered, "Self, HELL YEAH!" What Kanye song is that? D, you can't possibly be surprised that Jordan knows he's better than Kobe. I think ...
Michael Jordan Kids Camp: "In My Prime, Not Even A Contest" vs. Kobe Bryant
FanIQ Blog —
Random video circulating the Interwebs today of Michael Jordan speaking to a bunch of kids at a basketball camp.
The video begins with Michael Jordan answering a commonly asked question: "MJ vs Kobe Bryant?" Jordan concedes that Kobe has the edge right now, after all Michael is 45-years-old. But in his prime? "Not even a contest. I've got a much better chance of stopping him, then he has of stopping me."
Agreed. Then again, I'm a life long Bulls fan, so what else was I going to say.
The rest of the video probably only interests me. ...

Check out MJ, who is 45 btw, still ballin on cats! This video is amazing. I know he is schooling young kids, but this is still fun to watch. In this video, you can also see Jordan's competitive edge come out as he talks about Kobe, and makes little kids guarding him literally fall flat on their faces. Enjoy... Thanks to You Been Blinded for this video. BallHype - HE STILL HAS IT ...
Michael Jordan Would Take Kobe Bryant in His Prime
Larry Brown Sports —
I wasn’t too happy when people started drumming up all the Kobe/MJ comparisons during the playoffs this year. Many folks in the media were premature in anticipating Kobe winning his fourth ring. As I’ve said before, Kobe’s Kobe and MJ’s MJ. They both have been the best basketball player in the entire world at one point or another in their lives. Isn’t that good enough? Well, just for all you curious folks out there, Michael Jordan answered the question of a camper at his Flight School at UCSB. Who could take who, Michael Jordan, or Kobe Bryant? Let’s find out what His Airness said. ...
Nation Discussion: Kobe vs. MJ in their primes; MJ says “no contest”
The Lakers Nation —
So the great taboo of basketball debating = Kobe vs. Jordan… well why bring it up then? Jordan was recently at his camp talking hoops to the next generation of ballers when one kid asked if Kobe would beat him in a game of one-on-one.
Jordan’s response basically was that Kobe would beat him now ...

There won't be any posts for about a week or so due to Phil's trip with Stanford to China and my trip to Hawaii. For the record, Phil tried to get tickets to watch the USA Senior Men's Basketball team in Beijing, but tickets were sold out in a few hours because the Chinese government bought up the majority of the seats to resale to Chinese citizens. Anyway, he is there doing some academic stuff, and he couldn't be any luckier to be a part of the program going to China at the same time these historic Olympics are going down. I will be in Hawaii until next Saturday, and then out to Vegas on Sunday, but I hope to be able to get a post in when I come ...
The Old Automatic
The Off-Color Commentator —
It probably shouldn't be that enjoyable to watch the greatest basketball player of all time annihilating a bunch of school kids, but for some reason, it is. Also, I know these are just high school kids he's schooling, but seeing how automatic his fade-away still is, is there any doubt that the 45-year-old incarnation of MJ could suit up and score 18 per game in the League right now?
Pay big money to get your feelings hurt by the greatest? Welcome to Michael Jordan’s basketball camp.

A couple of weeks back, I sent my godson to Baron Davis’ RSOA camp as my “embedded camper.” Since we’re still waiting for the final cut of his wee homage to “Hoop Dreams” in convenient YouTube format, we’ll take a quick look at what it might be like to attend a camp with what seems like, um, slightly less altruistic ambitions. That would be one run by the GOAT himself, MJ.
Dude, I don’t know what MJ is charging people these days, but I know his Flight School in Vegas was like 15 large for three days a few years back. Boom’s was a ...

The Nextology of Michael Jordan - Kobe Bryant

Good Friday to you all, hope you all enjoy your Easter weekend. I've been meaning to share this with my people for awhile, and its a goody. This post can be found courtesy of Dr. Anklesnap from Hoop Doctors and since I know a ton of you (and I want to poke you in the eyes because of this) are Kobe Bryant fans, I thought that this article would be a great comparison between the two all-time greats.
