YouTube of the Day: Michael Jordan breaks things
Ball Don't Lie —
You know, for someone who snuck chances in his second grade
class to write a Michael Jordan "biography" in his Mead Notebook back in the
spring of 1988, as someone who has poured over just about every other MJ bio in
the years since, and as a former Cook
County resident, I can't
believe that I've never seen this before:
MJ, on a Nike tour, playing on a Spanish team, chains
flying, backboards breaking, as angular and potent and breathtaking as ever?
Where did this come from?
If you didn't watch long enough to see the backboard break,

For all the love and respect that's heaped upon Michael Jordan really, does any other sport have an undisputed Greatest of All Time we sometimes forget. Sure, the mature, jump-shooting Jordan won a lot of rings, but hot God this guy was amazing in his younger days. Safe to say that, well before he became the face of all of America, MJ was the most exciting basketball player who ever walked this planet. Case in point: This video ...

No offense to any NBA player out there, past or present, but in my book, there is only one MJ. Definitely the greatest of all time, no ifs ands or buts about it. Check out this old footage from an exhibition game played in Italy back in 1986. It is amazing, MJ just toys with these guys like they are little kids. And be sure to watch all the way until the end, where MJ shatters the backboard. That's right, shatters the backboard!!! What you thought only Shaq could do that? Well you guessed wrong then. MJ the ...

You’ve got me for another night while Lang holds it down in ATL with the messed up shot clocks and the crazy Hawks. He’ll be posting game notes, while I’ve got this spot for you all to get your discussion on.
After a late lunch with some of my family I came home to settle in for the day/night. I am the laziest person alive during these playoff weekends and it is the most amazing thing in the world until I actually stop and think about how inactive I am over these 48 hours. Doesn’t get any better.
First game of the day was Toronto and Orlando and when I tuned in, Toronto was up and looking good. I definitely jumped the gun when ...
Michael Jordan’s Classic Italian Art Exhibition
Empty the Bench —
It was a balmy, Caribbean day in northern Italy during the summer of 1986. The city of Triest was hosting an exhibition game of pallacanestro between Stefanel Trieste and Juve Caserta and a 23-year-old American by the name of Michael Jordan was in the house. Michael proceeded to do what the greatest cestista in history does in an exhibition game against inferior competition: put on a show. The montage ends with the the shattered backboard literally raining down on frightened Italian heads. And to top it all off, the high-flying antics are set to the tune of We Just (Our Revolution) by Italian disco artists Moses. ...
