Find Your Inner Pirate
Friends of the Program —
Mike Leach’s cameo appearance last night on Friday Night Lights was one of absolute zen. I can’t really honestly rave about his acting, or timing, but it seems to work regardless. Mostly because the one way exchange is so awkward it is believable. Life mimics art. Art mimics life. Etc. Come to think of it, I’m ...
Video: Mike Leach a natural as 'random loon' on Friday Night Lights
Dr. Saturday —
We learned a few weeks back that Texas Tech coach, pirate enthusiast, amateur rollerblader, love doctor and part-time meteorologist Mike Leach filmed a cameo for the cult hit "Friday Night Lights" while he was in Austin for the Red Raiders' date with Texas, and his official acting debut Wednesday night on DirecTV is certain to draw ... let's say, mixed reviews. College Sports —

Few universities would allow their coach to run off and try to start a career in Hollywood on the eve of a big game. Too bad the same rules don't apply to his players. They can't even use Twitter. Thanks to Dr Saturday.

I've Got Nothing Else: This is it for me for the day. With no game this week, it's been tough, but we've all made it through relatively unscathed. For those of you who are just now checking in this week, we've done quite a bit this week, including a look forward to the Texas Tech football offense in 2010 and defense in 2010. Not only that, we've discussed the preseason story lines, MVP's, depth charts and looking ahead to 2010 and 2011 for the men's basketball team. Hopefully that will keep you occupied the rest of the day. ...
