Colorado's Famous Fifth Down No new news on the Mike Leach "tirade" today. Don Williams of the A-J reports this afternoon that Big 12 Commissioner Don Beebe was traveling today and will be more than likely announcing a "response" (my words) tomorrow. Given a day of thinking about ...
Texas Tech Tuesday Morning Notes - In Spurts Edition

Double T Nation News: Good friends Disco Tech! has a portion of the audio of Leach's press conference: But DT! also has a theory as to Leach's motives, of which we suggested yesterday that Leach's reaction to the game was predetermined and with reason. Also in that DT! post is his quotation of DTN reader, Pablo. My biggest problem with Pablo's comments is that if we were to look at those comments from a legal perspective then they are hearsay, unless of course Pablo was actually in the replay booth, ...

Stars are in Trouble

Sometimes in sports, things happen that you have never seen before. Saturday night, around 11:30pm, with the Stars holding a 4-0 lead with roughly 7:30 left in the game in Los Angeles, everything went horribly wrong and incredibly absurd all at the same time: From the Play by Play 7:14 left, Brown Goal for Los Angeles (PP) 4-1 5:59 left, Thornton Goal for Los Angeles 4-2 4:25 left, Frolov Goal for Los Angeles 4-3 4:01 left, Kopitar Goal for Los Angeles 4-4 2:07 left, Nagy Goal for Los Angeles (PP) 5-4, Los Angeles 1:03 left, Modano Goal for Dallas (PP) 5-5 2:26 ...
Mike Leach Went Off On Officials After Texas Loss; Forgot to Wear His Tin-Foil Hat
Published 11/13/2007 at FanIQ Blog
It was only a matter of time before Mike Leach had another press conference meltdown. Our favorite pirate head coach shares his theories on replay officials and who should be calling games. He actually brings up several good points, namely residents of a town officiating the home team (i.e. Austin).
That said, was it really the officials who gave up 59 points on the Red Raiders? Good defenses always make the zebras much more tolerable.
Leach says he doesn't regret the criticism, but that's because he hasn't been fined yet.
