by Ryan You may not have heard the gunshot, but the video above is of poor Chris Osgood taking sniper fire at the end of last night's Detroit/Dallas Game Two. No word on whether the culprit was found on the catwalks of the Joe, but word is Osgood's gonna make it, so murder charges won't be necessary. Yes, it was a slash and pretty unnecessary; but so too was the butt end that starts the whole mess. If you want to talk about class, neither of them seem to be exuding it in that sequence. If Mike Ribeiro was looking to completely bury the Stars' chances of coming back in this series, I'd say he did it last night when he stupidly decided to slash Chris Osgood across the chest after the final horn sounded. Ribeiro and the Stars are claiming that Osgood butt-ended Ribeiro near the eye during one the last mad scrambles in front of the net, but so what? Granted, Osgood should win an academy for this performance but it doesn't justify taking a whack at a guy after the game is over. Payback's comin your way Ribeiro....Maybe McCarty gets a start in Game 3 or 4.

It doesn’t look like the Stars, Mike Ribeiro really wants to win this series. Moments after yesterdays loss to the Red Wings, Ribeiro let his emotions get the better of him.  He slashed Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood across the chest from behind the net.  This will almost definitely cause him to miss at least one game in the series due to suspension. Now before you crucify Ribeiro, you have to know the Osgood did start it by using his stick to poke Ribeiro as he skated by but Ribeiro should’ve just let it go.  Check out the video. ...

Found at Kukla's Korner via TSN, the Redwings have signed Conklin to a 1-year deal at $750,000. Not surprising that he left, but kind of sad that he went to the wings. He's permanently etched himself into Penguins' lore, however, with such luminaries as Johan Hedberg and Patrick Lalime. You will be missed, Ty. Hopefully, not because Sabourin sees a lot of ice time.
