MAN DOWN!
The Goose's Roost —
by Ryan You may not have heard the gunshot, but the video above is of poor Chris Osgood taking sniper fire at the end of last night's Detroit/Dallas Game Two. No word on whether the culprit was found on the catwalks of the Joe, but word is Osgood's gonna make it, so murder charges won't be necessary. Yes, it was a slash and pretty unnecessary; but so too was the butt end that starts the whole mess. If you want to talk about class, neither of them seem to be exuding it in that sequence. However, consider which is more dangerous: a slash to a chest protector designed to stop 100 MPH pieces ...

First, dandy Don’s comments:
Let’s see if I have this right: Mike Ribeiro takes a two-handed swing at Chris Osgood’s upper-body after the game is over and the Wings are supposed to respond by playing “rock ‘em sock ‘em”? Here is the footage:
Let’s take a look at the rulebook. Mike Ribeiro was charged with attempt to injure which is a match penalty. Here is the NHL rule on committing an intent ...
Guess the Suspension: Mike Ribeiro
FanHouse —
Filed under: General NHL, Wings, Stars, Western, NHL Videos, Stanley Cup It's easy to feel upset after losing a big playoff game, but it is no excuse for giving a wicked two-hand slash to an opposing player once the final horn sounds. Witness Mike Ribeiro's two-hand chop to the chest of Chris Osgood after last night's 2-1 Wings victory. This was blatant and could have caused serious injury. While the Stars will claim Osgood butt-ended one of their players, it doesn't justify this action, nor will it save Ribeiro from a ...
Mike Ribeiro Slashes Chris Osgood In The Chest
FanIQ Blog —
If Mike Ribeiro was looking to completely bury the Stars' chances of coming back in this series, I'd say he did it last night when he stupidly decided to slash Chris Osgood across the chest after the final horn sounded.
Ribeiro and the Stars are claiming that Osgood butt-ended Ribeiro near the eye during one the last mad scrambles in front of the net, but so what? That doesn't entitle you to take a baseball swing to a guy's chest after the final horn sounds. Although if you could do that, it would officially make hockey the awesomest sport ever.
There's little consensus on how long ...
MIKE RIBEIRO CHEAP SHOTS OSGOOD
The World of Isaac —
Granted, Osgood should win an academy for this performance but it doesn't justify taking a whack at a guy after the game is over. Payback's comin your way Ribeiro....Maybe McCarty gets a start in Game 3 or 4.
Mike Ribeiro slashes Chris Osgood: Ribeiro is a sore loser
Hail Mary Jane —
It doesn’t look like the Stars, Mike Ribeiro really wants to win this series.
Moments after yesterdays loss to the Red Wings, Ribeiro let his emotions get the better of him. He slashed Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood across the chest from behind the net. This will almost definitely cause him to miss at least one game in the series due to suspension.
Now before you crucify Ribeiro, you have to know the Osgood did start it by using his stick to poke Ribeiro as he skated by but Ribeiro should’ve just let it go. Check out the video. ...

If you watched the Dallas Stars face the Detroit Red Wings yesterday, or if you watched any highlight shows, you'll be familiar with Mike Ribeiro's 'slash' on Chris Osgood. If you didn't catch it, watch the clip below. The NHL announced today there will be fines for Steve ...
The Biggest Pussy You'll Ever See
Doubt About It —
Hi. My name is Chris Osgood. And whether I'm being lightly tapped by Mike Ribeiro's stick, or being slightly nudged by Ryan Malone or Petr Sykora, one thing I can guarantee is I'm a bigger flopper than Manu Ginobili. If a fly landed on me I'd flop to the ice. Did I mention I have sand in my vagina and it itches? ...
Ty Conklin Now a Redwing
Doubt About It —
Found at Kukla's Korner via TSN, the Redwings have signed Conklin to a 1-year deal at $750,000. Not surprising that he left, but kind of sad that he went to the wings. He's permanently etched himself into Penguins' lore, however, with such luminaries as Johan Hedberg and Patrick Lalime. You will be missed, Ty. Hopefully, not because Sabourin sees a lot of ice time. At least there will be a bit of class in Detroit's net next season. ...
