Cal vs. Stanford still wins on the visibility and "The Band", but for a little two-bit game with one camera, this isn't bad!

Count The Laterals if You Can
FanHouse — Filed under: NCAA FB Video, Featured StoriesIf you like laterals, you'll love this final play from the Trinity Tigers as they lateraled the ball an estimated 14 times -- I stopped trying to count after about the 5th or 6th toss. I'm not sure, but I think this play might have come directly from the Marx Brothers in Horse Feathers. Somehow there was not a hold or a block in the back (at least none called by the refs). This Division III tilt was a spectacular victory for Trinity, who have absolutely dominated the SCAC for the past 13+ years (yes, I had to look that up) until losing the conference championship last ...

Move over Stanford-Cal...
College Football Forum — The clip below is from yesterday's Division III game between Trinity University and Millsaps College. To set the stage, there were :02 seconds left, Trinity had the ball on its own 39 needing a miracle touchdown to win. And, well... Fourteen. Fourteen laterals. Wow, wow, wow! Final score: Trinity - 28, Millsaps - 24. P.S. Oh, and if former Michigan TE Tyler Ecker is watching, uh, you know, that's how it's done. I'm just saying ...

The Play II
100% Injury Rate — If you haven't seen this yet, well, here you go. It's Trinity College against Millsaps College from yesterday. And it took 15 laterals from Trinity to get the win. I like how bored the announcer is for like the first 8 laterals. Then things pick up a bit.-WCK

Winning a college football game, in 15-easy laterals
The Buried Lead — Trinity needs 15 laterals  to pull improbable victory (AP/SI.com) Trinity College executed 15 laterals — via kickoff return — before scoring a touchdown at the final gun to clinch an improbable 28-24 win over Millsaps College. We’d go on, but the video would do it better justice than us blabbering.

Forget Oregon … 15 Laterals?
The Big Lead — Quick word about college football, though we’ll have much more on Monday - why is the Gameday crew on Oregon’s stick because it beat a struggling USC team at home? We saw most of this game, and yes, Dixon looked good, and Stewart looked even better … but these Trojans haven’t been the same since the Stanford stunner. Anyway, victories by Oregon and Arizona State and Ohio State are swell, but nothing that happened Saturday comes close to the Mississippi Miracle. Wizard of Odds has scored the video, and here’s some text to help you locate Trinity ...

15 Laterals Later...
Walk Off Balk — Trinity vs. Millsap in Mississippi. Last play of the game and Trinity needs to score a touchdown. The video speaks for itself, as my words can't do it justice.

2 seconds is more than enough time.
Three Idiots on Sports — You may have missed this final score from Division III on Saturday:Trinity University- 28Millsaps- 24And you probably missed the first 59 minutes and 58 seconds of the game. Not to worry, T31 is here to provide you with all the last 2 seconds of gametime:Here's the SI writeup.

You Might Say The (Ronnie) Millsaps Never Saw This Coming…
Can't Stop The Bleeding — …except that would be insensitive towards the sightless.

Trinity (TX) Football Laterals It's Way For A Miracle Touchdown in Mississippi
FanIQ Blog — Um, wow. Trinity (TX), a Division III school, was faced with the common scenario of needing to score on the final play of the game against Millsaps. What happened was rather uncommon. Enjoy. The announcers are priceless. We just needed a band on the field.

THE NICKELODEON: THE MIRACLE IN MISSISSIPPI
Epic Carnival — We all remember the crazy play in the Cal-Stanford game back in the day. Nothing could ever come close to that right? Well, yesterday Division III Trinity did their best imitation using 15 laterals to score the game winner over Milsap.About the only thing missing was the band ... after the jump.Just for kicks, here's The Play too. ...

Watch the Game-Winning, 15-Lateral TD
Mr. Irrelevant — This is the craziest play in football history, so you may want to check it out. That was Trinity over Millsap in a Division III game down in Mississippi, and it included not only 15 laterals but took 60 seconds from start to finish. Fist pounds to The Wizard of Odds and TBL for bringing this to our attention. (Oh, and FanHouse too. Bonus points to Trinity for having blogstar Stephanie Stradley as an alum!)

Trinity Laterals
PlayersPrayers.com — Maybe you think Trinity is incomprehensible, but what Trinity University came up with in this SCAC title game is definitely unbelievable. The players themselves cannot but kneel down after that touchdown to pray. ...

DIVISION III FOOTBALL IS FANTASTIC
With Leather — This final play from the contest between Trinity and Milsap may conjure a bad memory for Stanford fans:I love it when football devolves into rugby.  The cheers are so much more colorful, and the cheerleaders are much more generous. -KD{100% Injury Rate}

Dodger Thoughts: Have Mercy ...
Dodger Thoughts — It wasn't a kickoff return, but ... "Oh my goodness!"

Miracle in Mississippi
The Ultimate Tailgater's Blog — This isn't exactly a tailgating story, but it's an amazing story. You probably remember the Music City Miracle a few years ago when with a lateral and some good blocking the Tennessee Titans upset the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs on a kick-off return with :16 left on the clock (the Titans went on to the Super Bowl that year).Well the Titans have nothing on Division III Trinity and the Miracle in Mississippi. Two seconds left - one play - 15 laterals - Trinity wins. You have to see it to believe it. That's why I embedded it below.

Follow Up Story on the Trinity Football 15 Laterals Finish
FanIQ Blog — What's one more view of the Trinity (TX) 15 laterals finish against Millsaps in Mississippi. Remember how we were discussing the local announcers call, enjoying the confusion mixed with pure exaltation. Well it turns out the play-by-play guy was a 20-year-old student named Jonathan Wiener. Good story from the New York Times on the him, the call, and what was going through his mind. Thanks to Dan Shanoff for the link.
