Nate Robinson is a Wittle Cheatah

NBA All-Star weekend is all about the dunk contest. You know what you’re going to get from the game itself and the rest of the events are pretty straight forward also. Everyone always hopes that the dunk contest is going to be something special and memorable. It usually isn’t, but last year it left everyone wanting more. This year we’re back to people wondering why it still exists after a sub-par performance. As you can see in the above video, Nate Robinson beat Dwight Howard in the finals, mostly due to bigotry. There’s a serious heightism problem brewing here and as soon ...

Krypto-Nate winning the slam dunk was charming. But, “The Big Cactus” doing’ his thizzle with the Jabbawockeez was probably the highlight of this All-Star game for me. I just wish the players came out like that every night.
Lots of glitz. Lots of theatrics. Then, the West (with Kobe and his battalion of big men) won handily – racking up a final score that looked a lot like the Warriors v. Knicks last Tuesday. Okay, time to break down the circus tent and get back to work.
Anyone else like to weigh in with their high or lowlights?

Robinson Tops Superman for 2nd Slam Dunk Crown Like famed DC villain Lex Luther, Nate Robinson donned a green flightsuit in his attempt to vanquish Superman. Unlike Luther, Nate actually won. With a quartet of impressive dunks (or three that were very impressive and one that people were divided on), Nate the Great beat out the man who was deemed all but unbeatable in Phoenix. To his credit (seriously, he should be commended), Dwight Howard aided in his own undoing like the protagonist in a Greek tragedy. He allowed himself to be posterized and beat out by his own self-written mythology. The Dunks. 1. The Self-Ally-Oop Windmill. ...

REUTERS/Jessica Rinaldi) Fans of the NBA All-Star Weekend's dunk contest were sent into a tizzy on Saturday night when LeBron James, the league's most dynamic presence, announced he will participate in the 2010 edition of the event. The dunk competition went from a marquee event in the 1980s when Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins competed for the title, and it experienced a resurgence in popularity at the beginning of this ...

20 Second Timeout —
Nate "KryptoNate" Robinson earned his second Slam Dunk Contest title with a narrow victory over the defending champion, Dwight "Superman" Howard. Both contestants brought a lot of fun, energy and athleticism to the event and Howard was a good sport to agree to let Robinson jump over him. Here is a video of Robinson's final round dunks from the 2009 Slam Dunk Contest: Here is a shorter video that just shows Robinson's final dunk, when he jumped over Howard:

Anyone else lifting their eyebrows after the moves the Knicks made? Donnie Walsh divined Malik Rose, Tim Thomas, Jerome James, Anthony Roberson and some cash into Chris Wilcox and Larry Hughes. That’s what a great GM does, he turns useless pieces into better ones that can contribute now without impacting future cap ...
