Leon Powe Crowns Delonte West
Dime Magazine —
Leon Powe’s game-clinching dunk on Anderson Varejao officially closed the door on the Cavs last night, but it didn’t have the pop of his head-banger on Delonte West earlier in the fourth quarter. Powe is making a case to have his name added to the “Stromile Swift List,” for bench players who are virtually guaranteed to make at least one defender regret stepping over to help on D each game. (We could make a list for Stro for some other reasons, but we’ll stick with the positives for now.) Throw Jason Maxiell and J.R. Smith on there too.

You should write to blogdome@deadspin.com. It misses you. • Good grief, Chuck: Everyone deals with the end of baseball season in their own way. Carving graven images of Manny Acta isn't high on the list, but you do what you gotta do. [We've Got Heart] • It's going to be a long winter: Does a Konerko for Figgins trade make sense? Lebron James rising 12 feet into the air to throw down that alley-oop was probably the dunk of the night, but I'm going to stick with my man Leon Powe.
Is there anyone else in the NBA, aside from Jason Maxiell, that makes better use of their few minutes on the court?
Starting in last season's playoffs, Powe decided that he would just start dunking on everyone and that trend continued last night. Delonte West didn't have a chance. Is it just me, or do you ...
Videos of New Cav?
LeBrownsTown —
If Leon Powe had his way, he would be playing basketball in Cleveland next February. If Cavs fans get their way then Powe’s wishes will be granted. Here are a few videos that either feature Powe making a nice play on the court or express the difficult plight that he has faced off of it. With a long recovery still to come from a torn left ACL and meniscus, this first video should provide fans some encouragement. A significant knee injury is like a fifth trip to the buffet line for Charles Barkley: no problem.
Powe’s tough life and success story expressed on video:
Mo Powe, Mo ...
