The Big Lead —
This is why we stomped our feet in July and pleaded with the Jets to trade for Brett Favre. Because on the road, with first place on the line, and having watched his team relinquish a 24-6 lead, the old man with the heavily graying beard was able to patch together memorable touchdown drives late in the fourth quarter and overtime to turn back the gritty, beaten-up Patriots. It has an odd ring to it: Jets 7-3, first place in the AFC East.

NC State may choose to under-promote our alums currently making major contributions in the National Football League , but we will do our best not to ignore their contributions. Jerricho Cotchery has proven that he is good for at least three or four bigtime highlights each year , and last night’s catch on national television against the Patriots ranks right up there with the best of them. J-Co undoubtedly deserves the praise and pay that he receives .

After Jericho Cotchery made that amazing catch against the Patriots last night, I’ve seen this subject around the Twitter and other blogs asking which catch was better: David Tyree’s in the Super Bowl or Cotchery’s? Obviously, Tyree’s had a lot more on the line than a regular season conference match up, but that doesn’t degrade Cotchery’s catch either.
