The Big Lead — This is why we stomped our feet in July and pleaded with the Jets to trade for Brett Favre. Because on the road, with first place on the line, and having watched his team relinquish a 24-6 lead, the old man with the heavily graying beard was able to patch together memorable touchdown drives late in the fourth quarter and overtime to turn back the gritty, beaten-up Patriots. It has an odd ring to it: Jets 7-3, first place in the AFC East.
