Let's take a more objective perspective of today's game with The Great, The Good & The Disappointing...but first..HIGHLIGHTS from NUBears: The Great Zeke Markshausen - Yes, he dropped one in the 1st quarter, but again he was clutch and made the clutch look routine. His skying snag over the middle was simply amazing. His end of half timing TD was a thing of beauty. Zeke added 8 more receptions and 94 yards to his already impressive Big Ten season. Saturday's 38-7 rout of Minnesota at the Horseshoe represents the end of the soft section of the Big Ten schedule. From here on out the Buckeyes face quality conference opponents, starting November 7 th when they play at Penn State. For all the frustration that has accompanied the first eight games on the slate, the big prize- the conference title and the trip to Pasadena- is still very much attainable. You can debate which game was more of a season-saver: Purdue, Indiana or Iowa, but none was more dramatic of a comeback as this one - NU's biggest EVER. The 'Cats were down 25 points and battled back with the full monty. Like Purdue, we made a big dent in the 2nd quarter and the Kafka-to-Markshausen TD pass in the 2nd was a thing of beauty. Ricky Weina, who was anywhere from 6th-8th string depending upon who you talk to came up huge at DB in the 2nd half as our mounting injuries took their toll. The final drive was a thing of beauty on this Homecoming to remember. ...
